Calif. delegates cause disturbance at hotel A disturbance at a hotel in Charlotte, N.C., led to changes for delegates from California just before the Democratic National Convention.
A statement from California Democratic Party Communications Director Tenoch Flores said two members of the delegation were intoxicated when they arrived at the hotel.
The statement said one of the men appeared to be unconscious, and paramedics were called to assist. The delegate was taken to a local hospital, where he recovered and was released.
But the second delegate became disruptive, and Flores said police were called to intervene, but that delegate was not arrested.
Flores said the California Democratic Party staff later met with the delegate who was involved in the disturbance, and he was asked to leave the hotel and not participate in convention activities.
The delegate apologized and agreed to leave without participating in activities in Charlotte.
