RFM sn prefix

H&R frame, SB2...1991?  Just making sure I properly understood the chart in FAQ's.  Thanks.

1991 would be HF or NF, you'd have to call H&R if it's RFM, that's a new one for me.  ??? For any other two letter prefix with anything other than a first letter of N or H, they won't touch, but there always seems to be an exception. One example of a frame Ilion woudn't fit barrels to has been the Wesson & Harrington BC and Target models with a WH prefix, Gardner would fit them, Ilion wouldn't the last time someone checked because they don't know when they were made, apparently when they moved to Ilion a bunch of than source info was lost.  Give H&R a call and see what they'll fit, ask for Lisa Walters if you can (866-776-9292).

I have an SB1 with serial # prefix of RMEF.

Maybe a limited run serial number prefix?

Hmmm, my SB2 35 Whelen Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation 1996 (marked on the right side) has an HK prefix.  ???

A follow up call reveals it is a CBA receiver.  Much ado about nothing....  The auctioneer apologized for earlier confusion.

I bought my RMEF 12 ga as a complete gun and it also is a 1996 model.  Not sure why it has the special serial# prefix.  It must have serious collector value, I will have to up the insurance on it. ::)
