.......and in an interesting aside: I heard a recording of the very end of Obummers acceptance speech on the radio this AM. He said, "God bless you all and God Bless America!" It sounded like the crowd roared it's approval afterwards.
I do believe that the Socialistdemolibs are pretty much a Godless bunch. But I also believe that enough of them still believe in God that the party dares not exclude them. For now anyway.
I agree! most "Party leaders"Socialist Democrats and Republican Fascists (Neo-cons) are more than not, Agnostic or Atheist. The average voter both Republican and Democrat, more likely profess to be Christian.If you went to a revival at some Baptist, Pentecostal,or any of the Charismatic churches, and ask for a showing of Democrat hands, I would say the majority attending would raise them.On the other hand most at Presbyterian, Episcopal, Methodist or LDS would raise them as Republicans.
To make blanket statements like some have, that all Democrats.......OR (MOST) are Godless, is wrong! It would be like saying........Anyone that votes for Liberal Obama, or Fascist Romney is stupid! That just ain't right!And not a very nice thing to say. "Ignorant perhaps", but not necessarily stupid

NW;
You must be kidding! Please pardon me, but your evaluation sounds more like someone trying to "look in from the outside"..rather like not entering the theater but trying to describe the film currently playing.
Having been experienced in Christian leadership situations for about 40 years...I find your opinions "cockeyed"! Most Pentecostals and Charismatics would fall into the socially conservative mold..frowning on abortion, gay marriage, drunkeness, drugs and the usual things which God has proscribed. Yes, there may be a small smattering of liberals..caught up in the raw "emotion" sometimes exhibited in their meetings, but most are solid, conservative citizens.
(Party labels are passe..liberal vs conservative is more apropo)
Baptists (my own background of training) can cover a broad spectrum, since there is no copyright on the title "Baptist".
Black churches using the term "Baptist" may well be on the liberal side..even though some black preachers in Obama's own Chicago, took him to task. Those called "American Baptist" tend toward liberalism..but they are a relatively small group.
Outside the black & American churches, the Baptist churches are likely among the most conservative, especially the "independent" Baptist churches which are perhaps the largest single group of Baptists..and are normally conservative to the extreme. Free Methodists are generally conservative and the LDS is naturally conservative..while I have limited exposure, I do suspect the Adventists are very conservative;
Perhaps an Adventist can comment...
The most likely breeding ground for liberals are the very ones you mentioned as being conservative..Presbyterian, Episcopal (Anglicans too) or United Methodist...they are the sources of liberal sermons
..And the Unitarians, which most of us do not consider to be Christian..are liberal haven.
