24" Rifled 12ga on SB2 Rifle Receiver?
« on: September 10, 2012, 07:57:03 AM »
Have an SB2 rifle on the way and looking into my barrel accessory options.  Can someone describe the following part to me?  Need to know how it compares to the "Ultra Slug Hunter" barrel in muzzle diameter, rifling profile/twist, etc.

Part number FB014: 12 Ga 24” Fully Rifled, Rifled Sights

Thanks!

Ultra Slug Hunters don't have rifled sites so that is probably a Tracker II barrel which should be compatitable with an SB2 Frame.

You are correct sir--this question is regarding the 12 ga rifled barrel available for the SB2 rifle receivers.

I'm asking how this barrel (available for SB2 rifle receivers) and the USH barrel compare (as in muzzle wall thickness, rifling profile, etc.)

They have the same bore diameter but that is about it.  The 12 ga USH is close to being a bull barrel as it is made from a 10 ga barrel blank.  The 12 ga fully rifled tracker II barrel is thin walled like a standard 12 ga smooth bore barrel.  The chamber swell on the 12 ga tracker barrel is too thin for the factory to d/t for scope rail holes.  If you plan on stake hunting I would go with the Tracker II barrel as it is quite a bit lighter than than USH barrel.
