.22 MAG Sporster back at the range

I have been doing that - pressure on the hammer, over and over, trigger pull thing to improve the pull. It has made the trigger pull smoother. I am still on my boxes of Armscor 40gr HP's. The ammo seems to be accurate and consistant. 50 yards is too easy with the scope so as I had another target set at 100 for another rifle I poked a few out to it. Four inches low - dead center. I guess thats the drop for this round. I left the scope settings at the 50 - eye of gnat settings. Every time the sporster comes along it just gets better...or maybe I do.

It's smoothing out and shooting better, and you are getting used to it.  You are both improving.

My old 22Mag Ultra Varmint keeps getting better too (lucky for us, hey!)  ;D . Why not -0- it for 80yds and check your 50 and 100 yd targets for POI, I think it will give you a more useful 'point blank'?

Everyone loves a accurate rifle!!

4" drop with a 50 yard zero sounds about right. But remember a bullets track is a arch and comes from a scope that is mounted approx 1.5" above the bore. SO, siting it shoot about 1/2" high at 50 yards, is gonna bring that 100 yard impact allot closer to zero. (as suggested ;) )

I have had a on again off again thing with the 22Mag. I had a fair shooting Ultra Varmint 22mag and bought a 17HMR. Well the HMR was so much more accurate I did not "need" the mag anymore. That was a couple years ago... Last year I have a new piece of property with a Coyote problem. but its somewhat populated so CF rifles are not approprate and the 22M is taylor made for this. I found another 22M barrel and got lucky, it shoots my favorite 50G Federals.
