Stitching Pony what are they and where do you put a saddle

Ok for those of you who will be making items that need to be sewed together...

Here is a life saver.  I bought one just like this...cheap and works good...

Let me know if ya want to know where to get em.

Yeah that one is a bit pricey..now just remember this thing isnt huge.......I was a bit shocked when I got mine.  Works just great though.

OK GENTS...
Ya need to edumacate me on what this here thingy does and how it works.
Looks like something they would have used on the liars club cause no one would ever guess what it really was. I have only made a few leather items and that was years ago. Now , a wood worker I am and this piece looks interesting and rather simple to make.

WD ya use it to hold leather pieces while you stitch em together. Its really handy ...sorta a leather vice if ya will..

Ok ... kinda makes sence looking at it now. Is there a wing nut on the other end of the lever screw ?
I can see where that would come in real handy holding several layers together while stiching.
I have used wooden screw clamps for what little I have done. Same clamps I use for wood working.

There is a nut that  digs into the wood on the other side.  You can eithert spin that handle like a nut or use it as a lever to tighten up with..I use it more like a nut than the other way...

Works like a charm.

Hey DB! I figured out how to saddle the dang thing! I made a "seat" attachment out of plywood and attached it with the screws it extends out in front and you can use any chair to stitch, works great! try it out!
