US Marines In Embassy: NO LIVE AMMO PERMITTED!

According to this report, US Ambassador to Egypt,  Ann Patterson, prohibited  US Marines in the Embassy from carrying live ammo.

If liberals won't protect their own embassies, will they protect your home against predators?  Obviously not.

That's been the standard for many years when our troops are not in a combat types situation. Even in the 80's when our Natl Guard would go to 3rd world countries to build roads and things they either did not carry bullets on their person at all, or they had to have a loaded magazine in their pocket with duct tape over the feed end. On many bases in America the MPs would have empty weapons for gate duty and the same method of duct taped mag in their pocket. I don't know if MPs exist on gates anymore in the US. The contracted security I see daily are not allowed to have a bullet in the chamber, but at least have a full magazine. The same applied for the DOD police until after the FT Hood shooting.

I walked my post in Korea in the early 1960's with a clip of ammo for the M-1. Several years later I walked with a M-14 in Germany without ammo. I did have a bayonet though.
 The OD didn't know I had a 25 ACP underneath my jacket with a full mag. Just in case those troublemaking burghers wanted to look at empty fuel cans.

AS far as I'm concerned ALL of our military guards in foreign, hostile land should be armed to the teeth. This makes even less sense than putting unarmed NG troops on the mex border. I hope obummer has now allowed them to lock n load. POWDERMAN.

When i was in Europe in the late 60's I was in a highly mobile radar unit. Our deployments were supposed to be classified and the site had classified material. We had 24hr SAT, security alert teams, teams out and gate guards. No one was allowed to have live ammo. I just didn't get the point!

Did the liberals learn nothing from the Take over of the Iranian Embasy.
Did they learn nothing aboutthe barracks bombing in Beruit in the early 80's
Did they not watch the 90's movie with Sam Jackson and Tommy Lee where a Marine LTC opens fire on a crown that is attacking a US embasy trying to over run it?
I was taken back that there was not a huge body count and and an armed extraction of the Embassy personel.
After all is is US soil and having host citizens attack the embassy is an act of war, and is usually delt with by the host country.

While I can understand to a point that "non combat" areas dont need as much armament, Egypt is in  the middle eats thata is a freaking hot bed for terrorist activity and revolution.  I think they should be armed and ready for any possible insurgent attacks.

Now American warships are moving closer to Libya, exactly what are they going to do, bombard the country again.? If the West would have left Qaddafi alone this wouldn't have happened.

  I'd go along with Embassy security being armed at a much lesser level than an infantry unit in combat, but they should be armed.  I think that anybody armed with a side arm should have a loaded magazine and a couple extra mags.  Sentries should have loaded rifles and a few loaded mags.  I would expect there to be one or two heavier weapons, like maybe a  SAW somewhere on the grounds.  Something to hold a determined agressor off while waiting for helicopters full of backup to get on scene.  Really, what I'm talking about (with the exception of the belt fed automatic) is nothing more than you might find at a power plant or some other facilities.  Armed guards.  Armed enough to hold the fort while waiting for the Cavalry.  Not such a big deal and nothing the US government can't afford and nothing a host country would object to.  In fact, I always assumed that embassies of foreign nations here in the US have armed guards.  Why wouldn't they?

Filled a truck with dead pigs and C4 and blew it up killing thousands of Musliums and tell them that if they continue to attack us we will detonate more of these sending hundreds and thousands to hell rather than paradise.
Let the word get out that the marines are filling thier rifles with hollow points filled with bacon and anyone that comes with in 20 yards of the embassy walls gets one at 3000 FPS.
Let's call it the Black Jack methode of dealing with radical musliums willing to die for their cause, but not willing to go to hell for thier cause.

One poster on here wrote up a snide political post one time. Something to the effect of Nancy Pelosi mandating only rubber bullets be used in combat for American soldiers. It was pretty funny. But the truth of the matter is it isn't too far from what's going on currently. I'm sure they have a very good cash of weapons at the embassies. But that does little good if just one fellow has access to arm the men with live rounds. Of coarse foreign embassies in the US have armed guards with live ammo. Other nations tend to want their dignitaries protected. Ours can turn an unprovoked attack into a wonderful political advantage. Or another reason to get more oil and not pass the savings on to the American consumer.

Obummer should go where all of this is going on , stand up on the embassy walls and tell them how they are a relgion of peace and love.  If this does not work bring in a water cannon filled with hot lard and spray them with love.
