Adding entertainment to hunter's pistol
« on: September 24, 2012, 03:51:34 AM »
Yesterday I shot the hunter's pistol match using my 10 inch Contender 357 mag barrel with red dot sight on top, loaded with black powder 38 spl. ammo. 20gr. KIK FFFg and a 158gr. Snakebite bullet hits to the same place as my smokeless loads and is equally accurate, so I gave it a try. I finished with a 28 in very heavy winds, made a lot of noise and smoke, and had a ball. Great fun!

WooHoo!!  Sounds like fun.  Using the black powder to smoke out the other shooters help any??   I always thought I wanted to use my Ruger Old Army.  Didn't think I could reload it fast enough to compete.  Still it would be fun.

Sounds like a lot of fun!
Always did like those 10" Contenders, and black powder loads just add another dimension to the fun!
