I don't mind calling him what he is  A LIAR!!!
When he was first elected I called him "the boy".
Not to try and belittle him or trying to be racist but in reference to his limited time in office.
It was pointed out to me by a member here that most people would refer to the term "the boy" as racist and was told I should refer to him by some other term that would not sound racist so I chose something I could prove about him by his own words.
After that conversation with that member I have always referred to him as THE LIAR IN THE WHITE HOUSE!
It is not racist and no one can deny the fact that he has lied many, many times and it can be verified anytime you want just by listening to his campain promises and watching his speeches on TV.
I don't hate him as a person but I do hate where he has taken this country, and the way he has gone about getting some things passed that would not have gotten passed had he gone through the congress.
I hate that he refuses to abide by the US CONSTITUTION which our country was founded upon.
I hate that he refuses to honor our flag but has no problem sending our military off to fight and die.
I hate that he thinks the rich should bail out the country when it is the government that should stop all the frivolous spending on programs that don't work or shouldn't be a part of government in the first place.
The main thing I can't stand about him is that he is a LIAR.
I live my life by the words my Grandfather lived by and taught me as a kid, that ("A MAN'S WORD IS HIS BOND, IF HE WON"T HONOR HIS WORD THEN HE IS NOTHING") !!!
I guess then that is really what he should be called    "A NOTHING"!

The left has a lock on hate. See what they do when you disagree with them, then you become a sexist.intolerant, xenophobe, hater and racist. The left does it, then blames the right.

I don't consider myself a "liberal" or much of any other boxed label, but it could be in part to the childish name calling and LABELING that flies back and forth from BOTH directions.

...I mean seriously, what is this, high school or something?

Maybe all the "lefty lib"/ "righty conserv" crap would sound less laughable if everyone did it in Latin or something.  ;D

Kind of funny how whatever vile filth some leftist spews is fine but anything said by anyone farther to the right than Marx says, even if absolutely true (especially if) is hate speech.

"Hate speech" as well as "politically correct" language are both notions pressed upon the public ...in an effort to impose their own form of censorship!
Why is it the words THEY don't like are the only words allowed in their "hate speech" lrxicon?

Hey - do you have an example of the contrast you allude to? Or are you just makin' stuff up that sounds... made-up? Another question - serious one - does Leftist have specific meaning for you, beyond a tag for folks who don't subscribe to your tribe's beliefs? What makes a leftist?
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

muznut. What I really hate is seeing my nation being morally bankrupted by liberals and democrats, teaching their children that killing babies is just birth control  and every woman has the right to kill her baby if she doesn't want it.

I also hate seeing them teaching their children that homosexuality is simply another acceptable lifestyle instead of an obamination like the Bible says.

I also hate seeing these same people spouting about intolerance about those things that the Bible condemns, then calling themselves Christians, and training their children in the same manner to commit the same sins as their parents. The parents are responsible to bring their children up with morals and family values, they alone will answer to God for misleading their children and pointing them down the wrong path.

Alrighty... why the hate, as topic asks? Because some folks feel justified in their hate, if feels good to them, and hating The Other is just what they do. Thinking they've got God Cover for their hatred, immunizes them against reason. Same sort of thing drives some terrorists.

...that's why the hate.

...they, and you and I... ALONE, will pop tall and answer before the "man"; but not to any one on this earth.

Guidelines of behavior can be governed and legislated if kept simple (if only life were that simple). Don't steal, rape, murder, or lie. Just my opinion but these seem to be the most comprehensive of the many interpretations of moral and behavioral standard, regardless of what book from which they originate.

I'm certainly not going to be the one to tell anyone what to do with their "privates" so long as such activities are kept private (I know, many deviants seem to have a problem with this concept).

My wife and I have been playing "Catholic Roulette ;D " for the last ten years and we have four kids due to this, but we cherish each of our children and would always suffer to wonder "what if", had we decided to abort. It's not what we do.

BUT, until I'm ready to start adopting and supporting the thousands of starving kids ALREADY in the world with no parents, I certainly won't presume to tell anyone what to do with their bodies, or whats in said bodies.

And why would I presume to have the government impose any condemnation or retribution if I already (supposedly) BELIEVE that God is going to handle it?

This notion can also be applied to any behavior that can be as defined as "CONSENSUAL" . If one BELIEVES so devoutly that God will handle it, then one should LET HIM HANDLE IT! and not lay any more CONSENSUALLY MORAL burden on upon an already ethically depleted government.

It is not the job of the govt. to enforce morality. That is the job of MA and POP!!! And if they feel too overwhelmed by the outside influences supposedly corrupting their children then they need to evaluate how they are managing their time and whether their communication skills are effective enough for the sake of their kids.

I grew up in one of the biggest cesspools in the country and no government official or any law of MAN had anything to do with the fact that I don't force my wife to abort our children, or that I did not become a homosexual, or a gang member running around murdering and robbing. THANK YOU MOM AND FAMILY and to hell with government regulated morality.

The higher power in which I believe is MORE than a feeble "government" and I wouldn't presume to bring that force down to the level of man.
OK, MY rant is over...for now.

On topic, "why all the hate"?
"WHUT WEE HAYAV HEEER IS FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE"!   BUT I'll elaborate on that after kids soccer practice ;) .

Peace to you ALL.

If abortion was illegal, people with common sense would be more careful, use condoms, or legal birth control.  Why do they need abortion when many methods or birth control are LEGAL and FREE?  Makes no sense.  But, as is nothing liberals do makes sense.  To much touchy feely, and not enough common sense.  Look at what liberal policies have gotten us in the middle east.  And it all starts with not letting us drill and make our own oil and oil products.  We don't have to trade with potential enemies.  We can make synthetic coal fuel, we can drill offshore, and on government lands.  There is a huge federal oil reserve in Alaska, (if you look at a map) that is larger than most states.  We can also buy from Canada or Mexico not the middle east.  We can use natural gas for vehicle fuel.  The fuel crisis has been ongoing since the early 1970's.  We even created a Department of Energy to "solve" this "crisis".  No crisis, just stupid liberal mentality, pie in the sky, utopian idealism.  Socialism, Communism, whatever.  Teach people to operate a business, make their own living, and get out of their way.  See what happens.

BUT!.................................What if we don't vote for the OTHER guy either? Will we be hated as much by the Democrat voters as the Republican voter? I don't think so, and we shouldn't be hated and scorned by either for carrying out our patriotic obligations.........RIGHT? Hate is a terrible word and one, I was never allowed to use as a child, and my kids never used it around me.

There is a zero chance that things will get better if we re elect Obama. After how poorly Obama has performed as president we wil be blaming Obama for the next 30 years for the mess he has created and it probably won't be paid for. There is a 5 percent chance things will get better under Romney but if he is  elected and blames anything on Obama there will be riots in Chicago. The media will sell spears and make big bucks.

OK, soccer dad is done, kids are out cold.

Why the hate?

From what I see, the perceived hate is flying back and forth from both sides "ship to ship"

I believe it starts to smolder when we stop seeing each other as people when we psychologically ans systematically place them in categorized boxes with the labels we use such as liberal, conservative, dummycrat, bible thumper etc.etc.

Like I said in another post, what is this crap, high school or something?

Awhile back one of the members posted a short test to determine how far to the "left" or "right" one leans. Out of fun, I took it and to my surprise I came out as a moderate conservative. And had it not been for two issues, I would have come out as ultra-conservative.

One issue was about gays rights to marry. I truly don't give half a rats tail who wants to legally bond themselves to another person. What is sanctioned by whatever God you believe in is amatter for that "god" and should be handled in your place of worship. As far as the laws of man are concerned, hey, they pay their permits and get to suffer the "joys" of being "legally bound"... to me, not the same thing as marriage but they can't have it both ways. As far as what this says to my kids, well, as I said in my last post, that falls back on me and is not the responsibility of the govt.

It's funny how many here call for less govt. in our lives, a notion of which I'm all for by the way, and yet they would have that same govt. impose costly legislation upon consensual issues of morality, the violators of which, they say, will be punished by God. As I said before, if you "believe" and are doing your best as a parent, there shouldn't be much to fear.

Anyway, second issue was abortion, again covered in my previous post.

After seeing the results of this profiling quiz, I was surprised to find so many common values in spite of a couple differing ones.

I got to thinking how is this possible? We agree on so many things and yet I wouldn't vote the same way or step in to the same church as many of these people ( I'm prone to spontaneous combustion inside a church  ;D ). In fact many of the views expressed here frighten me every bit as much as the ones expressed by any extremist out there, be they Christian, Muslim, or even Scientologist  ::) .

And lets not forget all those atheists running around killing each other over who DOESN'T believe in God the MOST. ...oh wait, THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN DOES IT.

So here I am pondering this, and I recall times when I've had some very civil exchanges with these same people and even learned many things and grew as a person for having opened my mind to what they had to say.

What brought about more receptiveness on my part on those occasions as opposed to other times?  ??? .

It was the tone of the communication taking place; the lack of name calling and labeling (hey dude, don't put me in a labeled political box before you know me); the presence of EMPATHY and the refraining from JUDGEMENT (hey, who the hell am I to judge anyone without first knowing what "seas" they've sailed or what "storms" they've weathered). And people, you don't learn these things by reading about them in a news paper, watching it on TV, or by the color of their skin or the language they speak.

As a Species on this planet, it is our ability to verbally communicate with each other in a cognizant manner, but also including body language and facial expression, that separates us from the animals. And yet it is the one skill that we have, and at the same time the most precious and powerful one, that we neglect and abuse the most.

The English language, when mastered is one of, if not THE most descriptive, and comprehensive languages on the planet. And yet, on a daily basis, I read and hear it being adulterated at some of the highest levels.

And it takes time and skill and thought for one to express a thought and  back it with logic and (referenced)fact in a way that cannot be twisted or misinterpreted. On top of that, when conversing face to face, the dynamic becomes even more of a challenge as emotions are no longer just read, but seen and sensed.

Once a judgement of a profiled and predisposed origin such as "Black" or "white", Muslim or Christian Dem or Rep- basically viewing the other as anything other than a HUMAN BEING (with fallibility), takes place, ones mind becomes less receptive, barriers are raised and all productive communication and relations cease.

And it is all due to the casual misuse of words.

Communicating efficiently and effectively is not being politically correct as some may throw out there. Politically correct is trying to please everyone all the time. Many of us will agree that those who do so stand for nothing and are no good to anyone.

But the challenge of making  it clearly understood how and more importantly WHY we take a certain stance, and doing it while abandoning the psychological shield of absolutism, is the responsibility of BOTH parties.

Failure to do so says to others only that we either don't know how, [(which is mostly the case); just ignorance and nothing of which to be ashamed as everyone deserves a voice to be heard;remember, efficient and effective communication is a skill to be practiced and mastered)], or it says to others that we don't care enough to want to try (complacency), or that we just want to impose and dominate (absolutism).

And these elements are perceived by the other as attitude and translated or misinterpreted as HATE.

There it is gentlemen, to a small degree and to the best of my humble ability.

The truth is that many of the issues upon which we bicker and debate are just not as simple as we might perceive them to be. And many of them are intertwined with other issues in ways of which we also often do not grasp.

To try to end all with a quick quip or a one liner on a thread is just "playing" politics or just an average "joe" venting frustrations with a system that does not see him as too much more than a vote and a vessel of commerce. Deep down, many of us know it. And our frustrations stem from feelings of helplessness which in turn manifests fear, then resent, and ultimately HATRED that was originally and sincerely never meant to be received in such a way.

Be it genuine or misperceived by either side, history has certainly shown us time and again down what path hatred eventually leads. Will we let it consume us and take us down those dark paths once again?

"Republic:  I like the sound of the word -- means people can live free, talk free, go or come, buy or sell, however they choose.  Some words give you a deep feeling.  Republic is one of those words that makes me tight in the throat. -John Wayne- The Alamo

Swampy has a good point here..
As a Christian, there is no way in the world "my muslim faith" would "slip out" of my mouth!
Having a given faith, takes conviction!  If you are a Catholic..are you going to say "my Baptist church" or is a Baptist going to say "my Roman Cattholic tradition"?
As I see it, the only way such could slip out..is if it were a "Freudian slip".. in other words, telling the truth inadvertantly....
Having a given faith takes CONVICTION....moreso than any political leaning.
Even so, if you are a lifelong, committed Democrat, are you likely to claim to be a Republican...or vice-versa?
If that was a "slip", it had to be a Freudian slip!
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

well said, finisher.
...Why the hate? ... I believe it starts to smolder when we stop seeing each other as people when we psychologically ans systematically place them in categorized boxes with the labels we use such as liberal, conservative, dummycrat, bible thumper etc.etc. ...
.... and the rest of the post was just as good. Pay attention, peeps - finisher gets it, and has answered the thread topic/question well.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

Saw a sign in a yard the other day. It said" You voted Obama in 2008 to prove your not racist, now vote for somebody else to prove your not stupid" Kinda says it all.

I Hat.... "UH" Dislike that word. ;)
the liberals/democrats will absolutely LOVE YOU for not voting.
