Submarines with nuclear missiles in Persian Gulf
.Photo: IDF                Israel is planning to permanently station a submarine carrying nuclear cruise missiles in the Persian Gulf, the Sunday Times reported on Sunday.
Israeli submarines have visited the Gulf before, but the decision has now been taken to ensure a permanent presence of at least one of the vessels.

The paper claims that the government has decided to station at least one of three submarines armed with nuclear missiles permanently within striking distance of Iran in the Persian Gulf.

According to the article the submarines are moving to the Persian Gulf  in respone to the growing missile threat to Israel from Syria, Iran and  Hizbullah.

Israeli submarines are known to periocially visit the area but this is  the first report that they may be permanently stationed there.

The diesel powered submarines are Dolphin class and were built in  Germany to Israeli specifications.

• They should fire the missles then go back and resupply for another round.

And you may ask yourself....

-Why Germany, who is a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) has knowingly assisted Israel in obtaining delivery systems for nuclear weapons, when Israel has not signed the NPT and possesses hundreds of atomic weapons of genocidal, indiscriminate destruction.
Such assistance violates the NPT.

-Why the Germans (who have economic problems) covered 1/3 of the cost of the subs and why Germany does not get any payments till 2015.

-And if German politicians understand they can be held personally responsible yet again for war crimes if the Israelis use these weapons.


I remember the debate when the German sub sale first came up. We were told the subs would not be fitted out with nukes. Turns out the Germans were well aware this was the intention of the Israelis all along.
Actually that assumption would have been a no-brainer.

Germany can no more be tried for war crimes for selling arms to Israel, than Russian Or Chinese leaders can be tried for selling arms to Iran.    The difference is Iran is run by irrational followers of the pediprophet.

History has a way of settling accounts and having the last word.

To me the differences are that neither China or Russia has supplied Iran with nuclear arms or delivery systems, that Iran has a defensive posture while Israel constantly demands war, and that Iran has condemned the construction or use of nuclear weapons as immoral.

Now who is irrational here? 

Judaism and Islam both have admirable qualities, but are both plagued with extremist factions.  I think while it is acceptable to question their beliefs, it should be done respectfully.
