Check this out. I've seen stuff like this before, but now guys like Kopel are involved.

3d printers work with plastics and resins, good luck making springs, sears, and barrels with one.
 
But get ready for the tirades against guns on this. It'll be just like the "plastic guns getting through airport security" argument that was used when the metal-laden Glocks came on the market.
 
Here's a more realistic view. Note that the cosmetic parts are made with the printer and the functional parts are not.
