Human Silhouette shooting today

MIA,with Leatherman 6X and Colt CGP

Temp 47,wind quartering Westerly at 3-13 mph.Put out wind flags ,only one guy showed US Marshal from the park, used Ball Match ammo,168gr .308,about 2950fps.At 900m{1000yds] all in the black [all targets are Human silhouette],500,300,200 100 all at prone rest shooting, then went to PM[Pink Mist} and I will be on inside 125 yds only. Then off hand 100,200,300 and I was in the black, fair groups for a old man all around,on the PM over 125 yds out of five one took a ear/side of head hole and one and neck,so 125 is the PM parameter. Then One would run with pistol to a set of three # silhouettes at 25yds and do a double tap while the # was called out by the none shooter and we did our duty well, and standing slow for PM at 25 yds we both did the deed,at 6 ft[most shootings occur under 6 ft] we did draw and double taps in the black.Wind is now fierce and cold.

Interesting post. We don't use those over here for target shooting. Only on LEO stuff do any of us shoot that type target. That wind must have been a bear at 900m.

2950?  Well, that's quite a velocity.  Who was the manufacturer?

The federal match I chronoed in my m-14 were only going 2650 to 2700. I have a heavy douglas 1-10 barrel on it.
I got a funny story about those human silhouettes. I was at a range in Pa. about 4 years ago and I was shooting some of them and the range master came up and said I couldn't use that type of target at this range. I was pretty hot and got a little upset after he explained why. So noone gets the wrong idea and thinks we are practicing to kill people.
I was in the army still at the time and I thought that's what I was sopposed to be able to do!
I told him that as I was packing up my stuff to leave and we got into an argument. I think if somebody doesn't like the type of targets I am shooting then they have no reason even being at a range or owning a gun.

Dan - unbelievable.  Guess that rangemaster thought that drivebys are committed by people wearing big black circles on their chests.
