Netanyahu on the bomb
« on: September 28, 2012, 08:11:06 AM »
How many took note of what Netanyahu said a couple of days ago.  This is not a direct quote, but he said, If you're having trouble imagining the world with a nuclear Iran, imagine the world with al Qaeda in possession of a nuclear weapon.  It was a great and sobering reminder of just what is at stake.  Recent events in the Middle East and the regime's handling of it, makes it all the more pressing and on point.

So TM, you're saying that Iran has no intention of building nuclear weapons?  You must have insights that very few others have expressed.  I don't have any of those rose-colored-glasses, so I'm going with those who believe the Iranians fully intend to become nuclear and wouldn't hesitate to supply al Qaeda, or one of their own  terrorist groups with a weapon.  There's little to be lost if I'm wrong about that, but assuming that Iran is a peace loving, benign little country would be very naive--in my opinion.

'Intention to build a nuclear weapon' is not a reason for war, but a reason for conducting intelligence.  Who doesn't want a nuclear weapon?  Having one guarantees your country will not be invaded.  The only countries who are vulnerable to invasion are countries without the bomb.  If you make 'intention' an excuse for sanctions or military action then you justify invading anyone.

The more credible argument is enrichment.  How much enrichment does Iran have?  If they are proven to be enriching weapons grade then we cannot sit by idly, watch and wait until they have a weapon.

So it goes down to intelligence.  The most advanced intelligence system in the world will know if Iran is enriching uranium to weapons grade.

The problem with intelligence is it can be used by a nutty leader to further an even nuttier agenda.  The nutcases lost their credibility.  Plus, the nutcases dictate to others rules that they themselves don't practice.  They act belligerently then expect others to act like slaves.  Same goes with Bain capital.  The workers are slaves.   :D

Study after study has shown how dangerous distracted driving is yet people continue to talk on their cell phones while driving. Driving in the U.S. requires your full attention. Many states and countries have made it illegal to use a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle and the federal government should follow their lead. Banning the use of cell phones while driving would have the added benefit of making the no-texting law enforceable.

I don't know if Iranian oil would bring down my price for fuel. I'm getting sick and tired of spending well over 5 bucks per US gallon on Regular here.
