When I was a kid (7 or 8 there was a show staring I think his name was James McArther, he potayed an American Indian. I think the title was "Light In The Forest". He wore his hair in what at the time was called a Mohawk. Monday morning about 30 school kids showed up with Mohawks, me included. Nothing was said, no big deal was made about it. We were looked on by the other kids as cool, their Mothers would not let them cut their hair like that. Actually my Father cut it. When our hair grew back out, that was the end of it. Never had the desire to do it again.
Briarpatch: We occasionally have a young man come into the gym where I go wearing his pants down low like you discribed. A friend of mine named Art is a big Black Man, about 6'7" tall, roughly 270 lbs of muscle. Art will corner them in the men's locker room, and let them know how he feels about their lack of respect for others. Also that the way they are wearing their pants tells him they are gay and out trolling, when they try and rebut that remark, Art gets in their face and tells them that is what it means in prison. You would think Art was a Marine DI the way he talks to these young men. They are so intemidated, they either never come back or they don't wear their pants down like that again. When one of tyhese young men complains to the manager, the manager says, "Art's a pretty big guy, he can back up what he says, I'd listen if I was you". Then behind closed doors he laughs his back side off. Art actually comes to the gym to teach elementary kids to play racket ball, and is one of the most gentile persons you will ever meet, unless you wear your pants down showing your underwear. Gosh, he scares me and I know him.
