small naval carriage
« on: September 30, 2012, 10:34:29 AM »
Here is a small carriage I just finished for a customer in South Africa who has a 14" long, .69 caliber, Brooks barrel.
.69 caliber worms are hard to make!  They are too small!  The sponge looks big but is is a good fit for the .69  It is just very fluffy.
The wood is walnut.
It will ship next week to someone who is very anxious to get it.

That is some fine workmanship. Beautiful color. You even have all the square nuts pointing the same direction. Top shelf Quality!

Gorgeous, fantastic piece of work, or rather art.  Nice job.  Your customer will be thrilled, and rightly so.

You ship it assembled or as a kit?

It goes assembled.  Even the big ones.  There is always some fine tuning to do.

I finally received some pictures from my customer of his mounted Brooks barrel.  It looks like it might be an older style Brooks.  I find it interesting.
Maybe Michael Brooks will chip in here and comment on the barrel.

Beautiful carriage, Zulu.  Although this is a nice looking barrel, I did not make it, so I can't take credit for contributing to this work of art.  I do have some barrels that would sit pretty in this carriage, though....

My customer certainly thinks he owns a Brooks barrel.
I did recently give him your website address because he said he couldn't find it. He is in South Africa.

I thought I had seen that barrel design before!
