nope but its on my short list. Ive done some on line research and most who have gotten them claim them to be exceptional #1s when it comes to group size.

Cabelas has that #1 in a 50 year commerative limited edition. It is simply not a big seller.

It is the slowest of the big 300 magnums IIRC, and a good 30-06 near matches performance.

That said, I'd still like one, and I already have good 30-06, 300 WIN MAG, and 30/378 WBY
rifles in the safe.

A 3006 wont come close to a 300h&h loaded to the same pressures. In all reality its much closer to a 300win mag then a 3006. compare factory ammo and you may have a valid point but i doubt to many 300 h&h shooters are using factory ammo. Sure wish remington would make another run of classics or chamber it in the cdl or better yet winchester bring out a 24 inch featherweight in that grand old round. theyd sure get some of my money.

Your pretty close on the 300 H&H as Win made post run with 26" long barrels

I think I got mine end of 80's or 1990 and I've got my loading data for it.  I always like to shoot factory if I can and then have something build and like you said the 300 H&H is pretty slow so gave the rifle to my nephew.  I've got a pretty nice 30-06 with Bartlein barrel that is pretty close to what I got from that 300 H&H.  One of the guys in our gun club got the # 1 in 300H&H he's happy with it so far hasn't shot it over chronograph doubt he every will.  When I got the 300 H&H I also picked up 500 new cases gave nephew fired and rest so he have 250 and I kept balance.  One of these days may build one.

I agree with that. There is no replacement for displacement when you are talking about velocity alone. The case cap. of the 300 H&H is very close to the same as the 300WSM & comparable velocities when loaded to the same pressures, remember the WSM's are loaded to higher pressures thar the 300WM & alot higher than fact. H&H rounds. It will run a little behind a 300WM.
Here is a good article on that matter. http://www.rifleshootermag.com/2011/01/04/ammunition_rs_the_late_great_300_hh_020810/
The case capacities vary a little from other sources, but the ratio of the differences remain about the same.
