Police say a robber armed with a gun was holding up a 21st Amendment Liquor Store on South Keystone Avenue early Sunday when an employee armed with a handgun shot the robber, who died at the scene.
 
Police did not identify the robber or the employee who shot him.
 
Police say prosecutors will determine whether to charge the employee.
 
An Indianapolis gun store employee on Sept. 17 shot and killed a customer who had shot him.
Prosecutors ruled the gun store employee acted in self-defense under Indiana law and did not filed criminal charges against him

"Police say prosecutors will determine whether to charge the employee". Looks to me like the only crime commited here was attempted robbery. Prosecute the dead guy.

On that I can agree. Before I got my ccw I had a 1917 45 acp in a ziplock in the cooler when I worked the liquor store and another 1911 under the counter. POWDERMAN.

One of the nicest people I knew when living in Wichita owned a liquor store and survived three robbery/shootouts. He won every time and was never injured. It took 3-5 years after a shootout before someone would try again. I guess they thought he was a pushover as he was already over 50 before his first incident and very soft spoken until you tried to rob him. As far as I know he never faced any criminal or civil actions over them.

I had 5 blacks come in one night, 3 men, 2 women. The women had large bags, or purses, they went different directions with 1 coming to the counter. This guy had the coldest unfeeling eyes I'd ever seen. I eased the hammer back on my 1911. The guy asked the prices on things behind the counter, that he could see himself. No way was I going to turn my back on him. They left without buying anything. I told my boss and he thought it was funny and I was imagining things, he was a retired cop. Next day they came in on him but left quickly when several regulars came in. They told Tom that all 3 men had guns in their back pockets. He called a store down the road just as they got there. They got arrested  next day at another Mom and Pop stealing. Gotta be alert. They were responsible for several armed robberies in Lou. POWDERMAN.
