Watch what it looks like to fire a handgun under water.
Make sure you scroll down and see the recovered bullets.

That was nice!  Those bullets sure don't make it very far when shot from under water.  Saw a test with mythbusters shooting into a pool a while back too.  Probably on Utube now.

Thanks for the post.

I would have thought a barrel full of water would have split, or caused excessive pressure, enough to damage the slide/frame! Consider what the water in  the barrel in front of the bullet would weigh, and add that to the bullet's weight.
One way to get a handgun really clean I guess!

Lots of video on shooting under water out there. With a Glock some were produced with that in mind. The spring cups on the fireing pin assy were notched to allow water to move as the guin was fired. Standard cups are solid. The hole on the bottom of the slide is also a drain hole . If the cups are not cupped the fireing pin assy can act like a shock on a car and not allow enough force to set the primer off.

I would think air trapped in the bbl would be a bigger problem. The water in the bbl is not restricted and moves out freely I don't see it adding weight .

Cool

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

They were , maybe you could shoot a shark next time at the beach  ;D  I saw an article in the Glock magazine where divers carry Glocks for shark protection. One had lost his Glock and another diver found it. After seeing the pictures it seems like a very close range encounter.
