  We don't know the exact situation here, but I'm with Magoooch on this one..   Frankly, I have always maintained that if you decide to get drunk or drugged up..you do so at your own risk..and that includes getting shot if you endanger innocent bystanders.
 
  I was having coffee with the usual "good old boys" this morning.. which included the Sgt in command of the nearby troopers station.  We have a resort town nearby (one of the top ski resorts in the east) which attracts many wealthy people year-round, and each of these people considers himself a "celebrity".
  This past weekend, there was a 'fall festival' going on there  and people were acting like asses.  The Sgt told us about one idiot down there who was physically tossed out of a bar.  Stinking drunk, he kept trying to get back in where he was tossed out of...  The Sgt was summoned and inquired as to the situation..  The drunk says, "this *&$#@...&+%$#..bar, won't let me back in!   
     The Sgt says, "look, you were causing problems..they had to toss you out;  why don't you just move on and get clear of trouble while you can?"  The drunk snarls back;  "you $#*&#....*%$@+&..cops are a bunch of   +&%)%#..and... (&@&%^.
   He had his chance...on comes the pair of shiny bracelets with a chain between...his weekend was over!

I  thought  LSD  went  out   with   the  1960s   .  Didnt   know  it   was   still   around.

There have been warnings around here about LSD being distributed on paper that looks like stamps with cartoon stuff on them to attract younger kids.

  Exactly what I was talking about..  If such drugs are legalized and cheap..the slippery slope will continue downhill age-wise.  Perhaps some smart aleck kid would find it "funny" to put some of that stuff on cartoon or wildlife stamps which little kiddies could lick..and stick on their back packs or notebooks..
   The least we could do is to keep that crap expensive..both financially and "time served" wise..so they won't be so quick to give it away..

They are doing it now legal or not. I have not said legalize any thing other than pot. I would support the tax money collected from the sale of pot being used to catch people using other illegal drugs. As far a a slippery slope I don't see it as it is already here . I just can't see wasting money and putting kids in jail for pot.

The truth is beginning to come out on this. CBS 42 in B'ham has announced a few days ago that the officer had both a baton and pepper spray on him at the time he chose to kill the guy rather than use a less lethal means.

Maybe he thought the kid had a gun in his pocket. Oh wait he didn't have a pocket cuz he was naked. I hope the officer gets what any of us would get had it been us that did this.

they can fight no matter what you do.  I don't blame the cop.  the guy probably could have fed the cop his own night-stick and pepper spray.

This is kind of a strange case. I can remember the defensive tactics instructor in the department I worked got his butt handed to him buy a guy half his size.  Realizing you can't always wait for help and can make the wrong decision, it would be nice to see the victims toxocolgy report after the shooting. It would be nice to know if the officer requested help or not. I think this is yet one more case of the facts not being reported.
 
I had a sergeant that used to dream of being in a gun fight, he always wanted one. I hated being around him. He got his butt handed to him in a few bar fights for not waiting for help.
He finally got the great beat down and was disabled. Some people just don't learn.

To be frank and honest---this is a perfect example of how things happen, even though we have laws to prevent it.

  It may be helpful to recall, this whole incident would not have happened..had some idiot not have gotten drunk or drugged up in the first place..  The blame if needed, goes back to.... "square one"!

One can always hope for justice, but in this kind of case, it's unlikely to happen. That sucks, but it's the way it is, and there's waaaaay too many sheeple who'll go along with it.

+1 on this one.  We have too many police "paramilitary" now.  We need our police back I once knew, and not the storm  troopers.
