new to me 357
« on: October 10, 2012, 12:27:45 PM »
I just this afternoon bought a used 357 magnum Handi at a pawn shop. It is on a CAC SB-1 Ilion frame with the pallet wood stock. The barrel is 18 inches with iron sights with Remington proof marks but instead of the last 4 digits of the serial number on the barrel there are only 3 and then the letters RR. These are electro penciled instead of stamped like the 223 barrel I had fitted recently. Is this maybe an older left over stock barrel? The H&R page now only lists a 22 inch smooth barrel with scope mount. The rifle seems to have very little use and is as tight as a new one.

Nice score!
That's the configuration I want and it's been tough to find.

Pictures? ;)

I've been doing a little research on the web and it is a Talo trapper apparently. I really like it, only 34 inches long and the fact it has the irons. Can't wait to shoot it in the next few days. I gave 199 for it don't know if I was skinned or not but it just really called out to me.

No.

Had I been standing there, I'd have offered more and taken it from you. ;)
