Glad to have you back with us.   Pain is what tells us that we're alive.  Feel better real soon.

Hang in there old man. There's still a lot of life you need to finish. You got grandkids somewhere down the road you need to share stories with.

Glad you are home! It's true that "pain lets you know you're still alive...but so does eating ice-cream!" ha. My father had 40% of his right lung and three ribs removed, back in '78 and he was in bad shape awhile. They always "cautioned" him about his pain meds. His reply was "hey, let me get through this hell and I'll deal with the pills later",ha. He had no problems later. I say do what you need to do friend, no one else really "feels your pain", its on you!
Praying for a speedy recovery for you Pard. PS  It will help later to handle that .357 and point it at pictures of deer! ;D

Thanks guys. Your kind words and prayers are greatly apreciated.  I got my first full nights sleep since the operation last night. Didn't hurt quite as bad this morning so walked outside to the end of the yard, about 50 yards. Didn't think I'd make it back. Won't do that again without someone with me. Powderman, Just imagine the bypass pain times 3. I'd never have believed this could hurt so much. I know what you mean about the scar tissue. Looks like I'll have a bunch more. Not to mention outside scars. Right now my body looks like Stallone's in Rambo! lol

Good to read your up and around!!!

I remember after my heart attack ( Not much "pain" at all really) I was SO drained of energy or power. My brain said "yea sure you can do that" when I attempted. My body responded " You Dumb ass, you ain't gonna do 10% of what your brain says you can!" That was the honest truth!!!

My loading room is in my basement, I SO wanted to get down there. I have a lounge chair there to rest in. BUT it's down stairs. Once the Dr OK'd the stairs, it took me a while to get down there then once I was down there I was so tapped I spent hours in that chair reading and sleeping cause I did not have the energy for anything else. THEN momma would come home and I had to go up for dinner or to be upstairs....

You just keep healing and get better. Drop in on us here when you can. Maybe you can catch the end of the hunting season.

I've not had heart issues yet, nor faced surgery.  I have had illness and fever in recent years that caused me to be down for 2 weeks, unable to eat, barely able to drink.  When I was "better" I was weak as a kitten, and could not do a third of what I was doing just weeks prior...I can not imagine how you feel Spirit.  Rest, and let your body tell you when it is ready. Glad to see ya posting

Thanks guys. :) I'm doing a little better each day. Getting sleep at night and think that helps a lot. Finaly got my apetite back too. My body hasbeen letting me know what I can and can't get away with. I've found that if I can keep from doing anything to agravate the pain then I can keep it, while not great, at least under control. Been sitting watching tv and staring out the window wishing I could hunt but hopefuly maybe by December though I'm not counting on it. Weather will be a big factor there. I have to guard against Pneumonia. Anyhows, I'm hanging tough. My son brought me some fresh homemade jerkey so I'm enjoying it emencely. :) To those of you hunting I wish you safe and productive hunts with lots of great memories made. Take care everyone. Will post as I'm able. :)

I spent one summer and fall contemplating hunting season while recovering from a back injury. I was as low as whale poop, thinking I may be done was a low place, I feel a bit of your plight. Recovery will get your mind on track. If like some I know the rehab will have you in better shape than you were for years before the problem.

Thanks so very much guys. I just got home about an hour ago. Am doing ok just still in conciderable pain. They had to spread my ribs open and in doing so the linings of where my lungs area attatched to the ribs took a beating. Makes bypass surgeery seem like a cake walk. I'll write more when able......Lee

Fine news.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

Thanks guys. The pain is much less, most days anyways. I've started therapy and not doing too bad. My left shoulder and arm have been dealing me a fit though. I had an MRI done in the Spring and seems I have naturaly fuzed vertabrae in my neck that are pinching nerves. It's like having sciatica in my arm. Can't raise it at all above shoulder hight. Realy don't want an operation but it's getting to the point I may have no choice.
