Bumbles was warned..
« on: October 20, 2012, 03:02:48 AM »
As early as 2007, Hoffmeister, prez of Shell Oil told Obama (and others) that if he did not allow more domestic oil drilling, we would have the highest  gasoline prices ever.  Instead, far from pressing for more drilling here at home.in 2010, he completely shut down our offshore drilling.  And now refuses the Keystone pipeline..so we can use our North American Bakken field.  Of course his secy of Energy has already said he would like to see gasoline at $10.00 per gallon.  He doesn't mind, he rides in a government limousine for now..

Might surprise a few that the largest known crude reserves are not in the Arab countries, not in Russia, but right off our Gulf Coast states. The BP rig that blew up was researching the quantity of the reserve and the type of crude that it would produce. It's not the first exploratory well on this reserve. The reserve pretty much is as large as the Gulf of Mexico and larger. We are not allowed to drill on it even though the reserve is naturally pouring hydrocarbons at an alarming rate into the Gulf. The BP spill was nothing by comparison. That's not to say we are getting nothing from it. The Chinese are putting rigs on and working at it 24/7 just outside our national waters. Wanna guess who's buying it? The Arab oil we get is high in sulfur and takes a lot to refine. The Gulf reserves are a sweet crude and easily refined. But if you're thinking that drilling will cure the problem, you'd be wrong. Exxon/Mobil has shut down 2 refineries as they are no longer "profitable". There are NO refineries on the drawing boards either as permits to build are impossible to get from our morons in DC. Regulations have pretty much put the small refineries out of business so unless DC starts allowing refineries to be built, this is only going to get worse. But look for the environmentalists to crank up the band wagon with all kinds of claims and slow the process. The only reason that gas is so high is 100% political folks. There is no shortage of crude, just intelligence.

Larry;
  That is exactly what Romney, Ryan and many other sensible people involved in politics and business are talking about.  Those totally stupid regulations are destroying businesses and opportunities for millions of people.   Still, the liberal "control freaks" in the federal govt are enjoying themselves.

Well here's more food for thought. The USA consumes right 375,000,000 gallons of gas every DAY, not including diesel. The morons in DC are telling me and you that we need more high mileage vehicles to cut the gas usage down. But do they REALLY want this? Hardly. It's all about the money. The Federal Excise tax on a gallon of gas is 19 cents or $71,250,000.00 per DAY income which is $2,137,500,000.00 per month or well over a trillion bucks a year. Do you REALLY think these clowns want to cut their income? If they wanted to get serious about fuel mileages, they would be supporting the headless engines or having NASA develop the solar/microwave energy that they already have in place but needs development. None of these technologies have any support from yer Government. The headless engines, about the size of a suitcase, is capable of zero emissions and making far more HP than the cars we drive today and fuel usage is under 10 gallons per 12 hours at WOT. But you can't have it. Why? Because you can make the fuel for these engines at home and they have no way to tax it. It's all about the money folks, and the politics.

In regards to the headless engines, research Dr Pauls engine. The Germans are developing a very similar engine and will likely be on the market in the next 3-5 years. Here's the German design which is real close to Dr Pauls except his compression ratio is over 1000:1.

Your math is incorrect...

$71.25 Million daily  ==>  $2.167 Billion monthly  ==>  $26.006 Billion annually, which is not "well over a trillion bucks a year".

the math may not be correct, but the argument likely is.  If our fuel consumption dropped remarkably, so to would govt income from it.  We were paying  $1.82 per gallon for gasoline when obama came into office..now runs over $4 in my state and nearer $5 in CA, putting terriffic strains on family budgets.  Federal taxes on gasoline are by percentage points.  Has anyone heard that Obama has eased the torture of that 100% rise in federal taxes on gasoline?
    ...Larry asks this rhetorical question;
       " Do you REALLY think these clowns want to cut their income? If they wanted to get serious about fuel mileages, they would be supporting the headless engines or having NASA develop the solar/microwave energy that they already have in place but needs development."

  Sorry Larry; but  NASA can't do it!
          Remember;  Obama has changed the mission of NASA from scientific development...into a muslim "self-esteem" agency..
      Here is a video just over one minute long, which explains the NASA transition..ordered by Obama;

We must be real, including truthful, in the reporting of facts that make up Talking Points.  When we serve up inconsistent and erroneous information, some of which is Internet based and unchecked, it fundamentally waters down the argument and removes credibility.

Thank you sir!
I'm voting 3rd party in this election by writing in Jesus Christ for president.  Sadly even if this were an option most of you would still vote Republican because "It's a two party system."
