Need a few prayers.
« on: February 10, 2004, 11:03:56 AM »
Hey guys  my mother is in a nursing home and the hospice nurse told me to day she noticed a change  in my mothers slow decline.  said her hands and feet were noticably colder and her bloodpressure was low really low. She only weighs about 70 # now is not eating any thing to any amount and not drinking much either. they said that here fluid intake is down enough that she does not have a reading on the bottom diasolic of the bloodpressure and her top reading is only 70. SHe is 87 and has had a good life but the last 15 years or so she has been blind from a disease that infects the arteries behind the eyes and causes you to go blind. This is affects mostly older folks. Any way it is just a matter of time so a few prayers to make it easy on her and me  and the rest of the family would be appreciated.  They did not give me any when this could happen but just said she is declineing and it could happen whenever. Jim

Jim, I went through this a couple of years ago and I know your pain.  No words can comfort at this sad time.

You have mine and Pauline's prayers.

It is God's way, but sometime we have to ask "Why?".

God bless my friend.

Neil and Pauline
Keep Smiling.

jh45gun,

My wife an I went through the exact same thing about a month ago with her mom.  Hospice should pepare you for what's about to happen, not that it makes it any easier.  Let me know if you want to discuss it, or if I can answer any questions.  In the mean time you an yours are in my prayers.

Takes me back to the time, not so many years ago, and the hours and days I spent at my own mother's bedside, awaiting the inevitable, but dreading the moment . The support of friends, and the knowledge that Mom would soon be in the presence of the Savior that she loved made that time bearable. The prayer group at our church will be meeting this week, and I will certainly add your mom to their list. In the meantime, you are in my personal prayers.

Jim I know what you are going through, I lost my mother 7 years ago after  three years in the nursing home. I missed two days in that period not going to see her. I will never regret all of those visits because I can't visit her now. I will always miss her, but she does not have to suffer now. Be strong Jim God is waiting for her. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I don't know you, you but I feel like I do
