Gun Show
« on: October 20, 2012, 07:53:35 AM »
Went to a local gun show today looking for a new handi, did not see the first one but did find one vendor selling unopened box's of bullets [100] for 6.00 each, bought as many as I could afford after the wife bought a new concealed carry purse. Got several boxes ea. of .41,.44 and 30 cal. :)

Isn't it nice to find a good deal every once in a while? Years ago gun shows were know for their good deals, now you have to get real lucky to find a deal at one.

Thanks, Dinny

The vendor with the bullets was the first table going in I should have grabbed all the boxes that I needed, by the time we left they were all gone.

In today's San Angelo newspaper there is a flier for Academy Sports with some "hot deals " listed.
They have:
Rossi 243 w/scope youth model  $ 219.99
Savage Axis                             $ 259.99
Mossberg 100 ATR scope/combo $ 279.99
H&R Handi/ Scope combo          $ 279.99
Remington 770 Scope combo     $319.99

This is not a good sign for H&R being competitive in the market , add the price of a cheap scope and rings to the Savage and it is still in the range of the Handi and the Mossberg is the same price. The Rossi is $60.00 cheaper. Which will sell the most?
In my opinion the best place to find H&R's is at garage sales and from individual sellers , The gun shows here have them priced like new ones at retail stores.
