bullets too hot?
« on: October 21, 2012, 02:28:26 PM »
I have a ten inch Contender .44 magnum,   and some 262 gr Keith bulluts  I loaded with 23 grains of  H110 and CCI 350 primers for my .44 SRH.   Now I'm wondering if these would be ok to shoot in my Contender, or if they would be too hot for the Contender?I'll be hunting elk.

Where did you get the load data?  The load books list loads for Contenders, and if they do not exceed the levels in the book they are OK.  That doesn't mean they will be accurate but they will be safe for an ummodified Contender in good condition..

I got the load data from the bullet maker for my SRH.  But I'm thinking of shooting them in a 10 inch .44 Contender. I have no books for reloading, is why I ask on here, as I always get good info here. Thanks for the reply.
