Help ! A Friends Needs A Forearm Screw....
« on: October 23, 2012, 01:59:33 PM »
I have a friend that needs a forearm screw for his T/C Contender.  Its the rear screw, closest to the frame, on a Super 14 forearm. He says it is 10x32 and 0.625" long.

I'd really like to help him find this screw so he can hunt with it this season. He has served our country for over 20 years in the National Guard, did his time overseas in Iraq, and just got promoted to Sergeant Major a few months ago. I'm hoping we can give him an early Christmas present.  ;)

Thanks for your help !

Fred

They are 10x32 thread...

Mine front one measures 0.44" and the rear one measures 0.80"...

I don't know if a regular machine bolt in that thread size will work or not.  It can't be any longer than 0.80" or it won't tighten up...

A tad shorter would be better...

You can find them at hardware stores, if any still exist, or Trader Horn or Tractor Supply stores...

Maybe even a local gun shop...

That is a fairly common size so you shouldn't have a problem...

Good-luck...BCB

A good auto parts store too...

Someone mentioned Dorman (sp) bolts.  A good brand name...
