cva hawken[kit] lock info
« on: October 24, 2012, 07:38:15 PM »
I'm redoing a CVA hawken kit gun for my grandson-had a spring drop out when son in law was removing the lock, and,of course the double set triggers dont work right now[really heavy] also acts like the triggers aren't returning properly. Spring is curved, about an inch long, a loop at one end,and a half loop at the other. Made of aprox .015 thick steel- Can't do pic's,except w/cellph. these were discontinued awhile back, factory is no help. Anybody got advice,or know how to get an assembly diagram?

Woodsie

The lock sear spring is made from flat stock and has a loop for the screw to hold it to the lock plate.  You can goggle CVA sear spring images and some pictures will come up to compare your spring to.  Good luck.

Try getting a telescoping mechanics magnet from an auto parts store. Sweep it around the area the spring was dropped. Good Luck!

You might also try calling Deer Creek Products at 765-525-6181.  They bought out CVA's stock of parts and may be able to help you.  If you have the funds and want to upgrade, the L&R RPL locks are available for these but will take a little finagling to fit right.  (LR-RPL.com)
