As for Thompson Center's the 7mm-08 Remington cartridge can only be shot off the Encore frame, not the Contender.


There are various factory T/C Encore pistol forends that can be used, from walnut, synthetic (rubber) or after market like my favorite the Pachmayr brand.

  O.K. on the Encore, now, how many different tapers and barrel diameters are available in 7mm 08? Does each require a different forend? Also I'm seeing 15" barrels for sale in 7mm 08 and there is a lot of talk about Super14 barrels but haven't noticed any in 7mm 08.   kody

All Thompson Center Encore factory pistol barrels are the same contour standard blue, stainless or Pro-Hunter, so you can use any factory or after (Pachmayr brand) market forend.


Unless you have a custom after market or old T/C custom barrel made too a different contour then they will need a custom forend.


The Super 14 barrels are for T/C Contenders, so you will not find them in 7mm-08 Remington.
