Actually, I think if Atlaw would just fire that 50-140 in a clockwise direction, it would stall Sandy!

Living in New Jersey across from Philadelphia I have put up 24 gallons of water and froze all the half gallon and larger containers I could find. We heat with wood so we have heat and a cooking surface. We are campers so survival is not that big of a deal. Water and wind damage is something we will have to deal with but know God won't give us any more than we can handle.

I read on another blog several hours ago from a guy driving from VA to IN and he said he had seen hundreds of utility crews heading east.  Buckle down, be safe and have a cold one while you can.

Here in CT we had power outages pretty bad with Irene. I was out for five days, then second storm had us out for seven days...

We are prepped about as well as we can, lots of water, gen, fuel cords, batteries etc...

I am about in the center of the state, so wind is my/our consern here. The shore is said to have a 2-4' INCREASE over what Irene did!!!  :o SO shoreline people will likely have it the worst! One of our favorite seafood resturants is on the mouth of the CT river. During Irene they took it VERY bad. So much so they only REOPENED last month!!!  I fear we have had our last meal there...

My prayers are for all the folks on and along the shores form the No. Carolina thru So. Maine Esp New Jersey, Long Island and CT shorelines!!!!

Their getting staged just outside the impact zone , we've got just about every lineman we can spare headed that way . Wind is going to be the major problem with this storm and then the cold is going to set in from that cold front that is sitting over eastern Ohio , hang on boys & girls , its going to get nasty in the next couple days for sure .

The latest path projections of Sandy have us right in the middle of it. Going to ride it out hoping area damage won't bebe too bad. Quite a few older people in the area so my kids and I will do whatever we can to help.

I spent the day filling gas cans, clearing the yard and thing things down.  Momma has the food n water covered.
The Polaris is packed and fuled ready for what ever. Last storm it was only transportation!! With all power lines down and trees across roads only thing moving was quads!

Took last couple hours before dark, with three elderly neighbors. Making sure they had what they needed.

I'm as ready as I can be.....

Last night wasn't too bad. Light rains and winds. This morning the winds are starting to kick it up a notch and the rain is heavier. We have a place in the Pocono mtns in PA and the news is showing the winds as high or higher than here. We are surrounded by 80 - 100 foot pines up there. Hopefully we will get away unscarred.

I hope you guys fare well and keep safe.  Being from Louisiana it feels very strange having a Hurricane and not being in the middle of it.

Ours got bumped to Friday.  Be safe down there from your friend 100 miles west.  Still just rain and a few gusts here.

Sitting in Jersey on just the other side of the Delaware from Philly watching my neighbors trees. Didn't realize trees could bend that much without breaking. I'm sure they are greatfull. Problem is the storm hasn't even landed yet. Suppose to be twice as bad as this before it ends. Most of the towns on the Jersey barrier islands are under water already. On the light side, some new firewood is just up the street.

Well I just spoke with Momma and our home and neighbors are all fine. Personally we only lost a couple limbs and power blipped a couple times.

Being support services, I spent the night here at work. It was crazy last night!! Had a blazer blown off road I to a ditch then shift linkage broke so we had to lift it with a big John Deer. Then posh it back to out garage. I personally saw two trees go down and herd or arrived at a dozen more just aft the fact. No one here hurt I was aware of. I herd of someone up state getting squished by a tree and a couple more not so smart ones overcome by carbon monoxide from a generator in home or garage. ::)

Things died down dramatically about 10P. Squalls and gusts remained till early AM. I turned in at 3 AM and just completed a rounds again. No more trees down couple limbs and leaves everywhere! For us it was not bad at all thank God!

For all the folks on the shoreline it was another story. Storm surge has claimed thousands of homes. I herd there was/is 30' of water in NY subways!

Prayers to those who lost family and friends with storm Sandy. Signing out, back to work... Gotta roust up some of the other men who also spent the night!! ;)

Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. We made it thru another one!

Just a like rain but still breezy. A little cooler too. We faired ok here. Just the branch up the street that came down. We never lost power. Just a few blinks. Maybe a little later I'll venture out to check the damages in the area.

My neighbor in the Poconos just called. About 3 trees came down next to our trailer and now our roof is leaking. Suppose to rain the next couple days. They have no power up there. Will have to head up there to remove the trees and try to patch up the roof the best I can to hold it off till next spring. The camp was winterized already so there is no running water either. Will keep you posted.

Our neighbor in the Poconos just sent a picture. It could have been a lot bigger tree that hit us. That one was one of the smallest around us. Will go up Thursday or Friday to put a band aid on it and clean up.
