Hello Graybeard.
Last Elmer Keith book I found in first issue was Six Guns and I put a price on it to be sent to the server fund, not to me, it sold the next day.
1 What I was really hoping for was a person who would store and archive both book and letter. I stated that I thought my offer was unfair and invited alternative offers. I think the letter is far more important than the book. To me it shows an undereducated man, holding down a job as a magazine editor, and willing to help any one who asked. There are not many of those type people left. If I had listed on ebay or a signature collectors site it would have disappeared into a stack of papers held only for value.
2 Selling at my dinner table, it is always best to look the man you are dealing with in the eye and I make good coffee and great cookies.
3 Too much asked; I offered additional trade bait in rifles, handguns, buck knives etc., I could even have throwen in A restraunt milkshake maker. Any trade I make will be fair to both sides or it will leave me with a sour feeling, I just can't skin some one and feel good about it.
4 If I have no one intrested in Elmer Keith on this forum I will pull this offer and then relist elsewhere . If I wind up with cash(?) I will donate some.
5 My kind of horse trader was best put forward by Paul Douglas in his last movie, "The Mating Game".
Lastly, I think it is possible that I may have been misunderstood, if I have offended any one here I apoligise, that was never my intention.
