Survivor Stock Recoil Pad?
« on: February 10, 2004, 12:18:47 PM »
I have an extra set of Survivor stocks from a shot gun I'd like to fit to a rifle. I really like the feel of the hand grip, but not that hard plastic butte plate. Has anyone fitted this stock with a recoil pad? What method did you use and how did it work? Any pictures? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Survivor Stock Recoil Pad?

Unfortunately I don't have one, but have handled a couple.  The only thing I've heard from people that own the survivor stocks in the past is picking up a slip over recoil pad (like from walmart) and slipping it over.  Extends the length of pull a little, but depending on your build that might be a good thing.

However, I don't know how a slip over recoil pad and the ability to get into the forearm go together without removing the recoil pad everytime, but maybe I'm missing something.  Or maybe you sacrifice one for the other.
