H&R Top Break ID Help
« on: October 31, 2012, 11:07:08 AM »
I'm new to the sight so please bear with me. I recently inherited a revolver for which I would like to know the date of manufacture, etc. From reading many posts in this forum it appears to be a Premier .32 break-top. Stamped on the barrel is: HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON ARMS COMPANY WORCHESTER, MASS. OCTOBER 4TH,1897. There is no stamp on either side of the barrel. It is an auto eject & six shot. Barrell length is 3 1/4 inches. The entire gun appears nickel plated. The serial # is 4574 (no prefix) and was found under the top strap with the cylinder removed. The back of the cylinder is stamped 574. Any info is appreciated.

The real experts are no longer with us, but this was a recent top break discussion:

Thank you for the prompt and concise reply. The information is just what I was looking for. In reading other posts recently, I saw where we recently lost a true expert and I'm sure he is missed. Again, thanks.
