Nice "rally" tactic. Powerful tool. Wield it wisely. In neither of the two posts (that seem to have your feathers so ruffled) was there any direct attack upon anyone specific as the statements were made as generalizations. I would not have expected you IG to expose your (emotional poker) hand so easily.
Perhaps now is a good time to climb down from your pompous perches of self-imposed superiority..Where exactly have the claims to such status been made? And as far as IMPOSITION goes, I have remained silent for far too much of my life while others IMPOSED their moral and religious ideology upon me when I have done nothing in any physical way to them.

All right, since I'm going to be quoted out of context and possibly be facing a witch hunting rally, I'll get down to it.
IG, you have much wisdom to offer and I have read and respected it quite often. But that admiration only goes as far what I read from the man (you) alone, completely stripped of the religious and political ideology.
You have said things on this site that have stopped me in my tracks and really made me re think. But this has not been one of those occasions.
My wife (who is an extremely spiritual person in her own way) reads some of the political and religious rhetoric on this site and asks me,"why do you bother?"
And this topic "is a war coming in the USA" is more or less the reason that I explain to her.
Because people are different and think differently and have different beliefs. And that there are those out there who would judge and condemn others and push to legislate IMPOSITION upon any one who does not think and do exactly as they do or according to what their interpretation of a hand full of ancient documents may say.
Ancient documents passed down and written by people who claimed to be the mouth pieces of God himself and yet didn't even know that the Earth orbited the sun instead of the other way around or that the Earth was round instead of flat.
And I tell her that these people are not just the ones overseas of whom the shiny glow box tells us we should be so afraid. No. They are right here as well and everywhere. I tell her that it is not about religion or faith but about the IMPOSITION OF POWER, OF SOMEONE ELSE'S WILL OVER YOUR RIGHT TO BELIEVE WHAT THEY WISH.
And on this note, I bring up the issue of CONTRADICTIONS in what people preach and what their actions and attitudes reflect, and how many of us fail to see these CONTRADICTIONS.
YOU CAN BLAME WHO OR WHAT EVER YOU WANT; go on pointing fingers all day. It was the "lefties" faults, it was the "bible thumpers" faults. Here's the classic; it's Obama's fault. Yep! It is ALL HIS SOLE RESPONSIBILITY as if the past fifty years just never happened.

Because I'm trying to figure out if when things go really bad, if their is anyone out there in whom I can depend upon to treat my family, my children, my (QUEENS) ENGLISH speaking; fought, bled and killed for this government(right or wrong) veteran family members as HUMAN BEINGS FIRST before judging them on sight as a brown skinned non believing liberal whatever childish name calling rhetoric you want to use.
And judging from what I've read, I really think that we're gonna be on our own. God help us.
YEAH IG, I do believe. Just not from the same perspective as you or the rest of the great majority of Christians, Muslims, Jews, or any other mainstream form of faith.
I search for truth and find that I get damned every time I open my mouth to share things with people. There is so much MORE out there that is hidden from all of us and it seems that we (in general) have no desire to seek it out; being quite comfortable in the "Single Book Bubble" (there it is again, the offensive "B" word) that seems to work quite well for us all in a (RELATIVELY) immediate sense.
I have not claimed any superiority over anyone, far from it. You don't know me or bear the shame of the things I've done. Nor will I answer to you or anyone other than my maker. And as long as there are those that live on this Earth with this notion that they're going to
impose their interpretations of some very limited sources of information , with the intent of creating a so called "Heaven on Earth", there will always be resent, resulting in hatred, resulting in fear and in the end resulting in war and suffering.
For those that claim to believe so strongly (and this applies world wide) and yet are so concerned with IMPOSING their views on others, I have to be suspect as to the true depth of their so claimed faith. Because why would they be so focused with forcing the other guy to do what they want him to do here on this Earth, rather than preparing themselves mentally and spiritually for the "Here After"... unless, DEEEP dowwwn inside, there may be just a hint of doubt?
Maybe it is a lie, maybe I've got it wrong and the other guy is right. Questions that could drive anyone insane when pondered long enough and without enough information and searching upon which to formulate a sound belief.
No. I don't think I'm better than any one. I only "SEE" a great many things that I wish I could not. Other men of strong but different faiths described it to me as a "gift". But for me, it's more like a curse. Because I can SEE what is already here and has been here for quite a long time.
And unless we all, as HUMAN BEINGS start to see beyond what's in front of our faces and beyond the scope of our blinders there is NOTHING that you or I or any of the self proclaimed "faithful" can do to change it on this Earth.
My experience in this life has been generous in experience and knowledge. I'm quite prepared to go if it should happen at this mid point stage of my life. I hope it's true about what they say we all take with us because I've quite a few interesting observations to report.
