Shredding The Trash?
« on: November 03, 2012, 06:44:13 AM »
The Mrs. brought up an interesting problem. She has been throwing the political flyers into the recycle bin, and trash day is nearly here. She is concerned about young children reading the flyers. ;D  What with all the talk about scandalous behaviour, financial misdeeds, criminal behaviour, moral perversions, and general irresponsability, of those running for political office. She is concerned as to the chance some child will come across this and be scarred for life.

She thinks we need a shredder for our recycling. Personally I haven't found a one of these clowns I would feel comfortable leaving the cat with over a long weekend, at least if their opponants are to be believed.

I have been throwing all of the political B.S. that lands in my mailbox right into the woodstove without reading it. Starting next week I guess they will stop sending me all of that free fuel.
Hi NSA! Can you see how many fingers I am holding up?

We have a Republican State Senator who has been serving us for 14 years.  First as a State Reprasentative, then as a State Senator.  Due to redistricting, he is now being pitted against another incombent.  The other guy is a Democrate.  The Democrate has been running nothing but negative adds.  All this negative stuff has gotten many people's attention.

Last night I was discussing things with the wife.  She said she is voting for the democrate, I asked why.  She started listing off all the negative things she had heard on TV about the Republican Senator.  She also said she had heard nothing negative about the Democrate.  I told her she needed to quite listening to the TV and Radio.  I pointed out the Election manual and told her to look up each person't record.  Use that and only that to make her decission.  She can't comprehend what I am trying to tell her, she says I am telling her how to vote.  No I'm trying to convince her she needs to look at the issues, and not listen to the political adds.  I'm not getting through to her.  She throws all the political adds in the burn barrel because they have out address on them.  If a kid should be scarred for life by political adds that kid has bigger issues than political adds.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Every one of our candidates are scoundrels, I'm expecting to find out one of them is a cannibel before tuesday morning. I cannot find out what any of them plan on doing besides spending money on what the other thinks is ridiculous.

I believe I could get elected if I promised to stay home and simply drink beer. Won't go to the capitol won't vote on anything either to raise taxes or lower them, increase spending or reduce spending, simply do nothing absolutely nothing. If it is like any sort of business I've been around the system will go on auto pilot of its own accord.

How was man able to feed, clothe, and shelter himself before these A88holes went to congress?

This election season has got to end.

As a practical matter, I don't recommend buying a personal shredder unless you are prepared to spend quite a bit of money. We've worn two of them out and have no intention of getting another one. I have a fire pit for my "shredding".

But what I really want is to be able to take my stuff to a recycle place and shred it periodically. I've heard of those. That way I'd just be able to take my stuff there and not have to tend a fire.

Could I maybe burn the politicians and throw away the flyers? ;D
