Has anyone been able to contact Birdman? I was just reading the "worst president post" on the Civil War Forum, and I thought about him. I seem to remember he has some real strong opinions on the subject.

dodgecity, I sent Birdman an e-mail to see where he was going to post. He sent me one back and said he was in negotiations with Marlin to "obtain Marlin Talk". I sent him another e-mail today to tell him about thing sight. :-D I dopubt if Marlin would even consider that since they shut down the way they did and would not want anything even remotely to do with something like that. I could be wrong but I doubt it. I figure as long as GB and a couple of others have made room for us why bother???? If he is dead set on it and has the dough which it sounds like he does why don't he just start his own??  That to me sounds like less hassle. I bet GB could tell him a thing or too on the joys and headaches of running one of these sites.  :)  :) Hats off to ya GB for running this site and putting up with the good and the bad. Jim

New York, I think you're absolutely right. Although I might be considered a heretic for saying it, I think that the graybeardoutdoor site is potentially superior to the old Marlin site. Not only does this site provide a whole lot more specialzed forums, but, the moderators will deal with the trolls in a more effective manner than Marlin ever did. Heck, Graybeard has even given us our own board! I don't know about the rest of you, but, I'm home.

And if enough of you end up here and decide you want some kind of division of topics just for your group I have no problem with that. I'm not really sure how MT was set up but from what I've read I gathered there were multiple forums. Right now I don't think the numbers have grown enough to benefit from such a division and I certain won't force it on you but will leave it to you guys. If your ranks here continue to swell and you think additional topics under a separate section would be beneficial I have no problems doing that. I do think after the switch to the new server would be better than before.

I can have all of you who were on the Marlin site in a section called something like the Marlin/NEF/H&R Section with forum titles to suit or if needed split it to two sections. I'm not really limited in what can be done if there are enough of you to support it and if you want it. Matters not to me so long as I have volunteers to Moderate prior to setting up a forum so we can assure the rules are followed. You'll find me pretty easy to work with as long as folks play nice. Those who don't definitely won't be happy here as we run a family oriented site and keep it clean and wholesome for the entire family.

I think Jackfish and Marlin are still trying to figure out the results of the 2003 big bore postal match results, and how to award the collected prizes that were donated. Come to think of it, I think that was the only time I was ever ripped off by a corporate website.

Splitting things up a-bit wouldn't be so bad,I know there are the dedicated cowboy fans,336 fans and all of the big-bore fans too,and the fans of all three as well, for those mutiple Marlin rifle owners

Just read on the Rimfire Central that BOA Is going to call it quits as he could not work any thing out with Marlin which I predicted and he has no use for moderators or so he said  so I guess that lets him out here as he said he would not go to any moderated forums or that is how I took it. ! Too bad but if that is the way he feels? Jim

Dali Llama say word "moderation" do not appear to exist in Birdman of Auburn's vocabulary.  Dali say, however, that not be all negative, as Birdman of Auburn apparently do everything all out.
