Has anyone tried this? I want to use a laminated stock set on my Sidekick, my concern is the forend post hole. It looks to me there will only be .38 inch of material between the standard post hole and the Sidekick hole. Is that enough material to stand up to recoil?
You would also need to relieve material from the rear of the forend to fit the barrel contour near the hinge pin to get it to fit a Sidekick. If you do this and drill a new hole for the forend stud, I would fill in the old forend stud hole before using. You should not have to worry about recoil, because the forend really isn't part of that equation. You can actually fire the H&R/NEF's without a forend, it basically is just there for a grip, and to hold the barrel on to the frame when you break it open.
The standard forend will look very short on a Sedekick, their forends ar longer because the frame is shorter.
