left hand stocks
« on: November 07, 2012, 05:02:54 AM »
I have a modle 11 left hand savage, that I would love to replace the stock on.The problem is ,there seems to be none that I can find. There are plenty of left hand stocks with right hand bolts,or custom stocks that you have to take a loan out to pay for them.Does anybody out there make a true left hand stock for a left hand savage.Wood, laminite, syn. thumbhole,or just a regular stock.Any info. would be greatly appreciated THANKS.

Try Stockade stocks.  They make synthetic stocks for LH Savage rifles.  I've looked for LH stocks too and have turned up very little.  Boyd's may make some LH wood stocks as well.  http://www.stockadegunstocks.com/3.html

Boyds has finally said that they will be making left handed stocks in the coming year.  Choate makes a tactical type stock for us lefties but I personally think that they're hideous and too heavy for a hunting rifle.

My searching led me to either Richard's Microfit, and the need to finish the fitment to the rifle and hole that I don't have to actually deal with their customer service or lack thereof, or Stockade.  I called Stockade and spoke at length with the owner getting the stock exactly as I wanted it.  Be advised that his lead time is around 18 weeks.
