33-35 degrees, no clouds, bright sun and no wind what more could you ask for!

The 30-30 is an Armor Alloy II with a 2.5X T/C scope. The 223 is SS with a Leupold 2.5x8X Vari-x EER scope both are bull barrels. The frame is AAII with the T/C ambidextrous cushioned grip.

I had some strange values for a few of the shots but I think I have enough good data points to call it as the 30-30 at 2300 fps and the 223 at 3200 fps. I think the chronograph was to close as it would move from the muzzle blast, especially the first shot that clocked at 7600 fps , it almost toppled the unit, it was only a couple of feet out. I was able to move it out to about 10' after that but it was still moving.

Tossing out the odd balls I get 30-30 7 shot avg. 2322fps w/ 2’ 100yd groups and the 223 7 shots 3253fps with 1” groups at 100 yds.

This is the 50 yd target. 10 shots 5 ea. I shot the 223 first and my first 2 shots with the 30-30 went in the same pile so the top group is 7 shots. You can see one is from another day of shooting it has a faint x over it on the right side. The bottom group is 3 30-30 and one old one you can see where the dot jumped off on the left side. The POA for this group was at the bottom edge of the target.

X this one I noticed the decimal point maybe the other odd numbers were the same.
XX this was a called flyer hence # 6 to confirm!

With some time on the reloading/shooting bench I am certain I can reduce my 100yd 30-30 groups to 1” or less and the 223 to sub ½”. This will give me my 200yd 30-30 deer slayer load and my 300 yd. ‘yote poker!

Interesting, you are seeing a 100 fps more than I did in the 30-30.  That may be not an unusual variance in factory ammo.
Thanks for posting the info.
