Aluminum frames - longevity? Ed Clarke has built compettition pistols on aluminum frames that have gone more the 50 thousand rounds without any problems.
A auto pistol rated for +P - will someone please take a look at a reloading manual to figure out what might constitute a +P round, or let me give you a example. From todays factory loads, a 230 gn 45 acp at 850'/sec is a standard pressure (P) round, even though the factory velocity used to be 877'/sec from a gov't model 5" bbl; a 230 gn 45 acp at 875'/sec is now a +P round - the +P means increased pressure. A 230 gn 45 acp slug at 900'/sec is now considered +P+ and this category goes up to 930'/sec or faster.
A review of handloading manuals that use actual firearms for testing, not bolt style pressure barrels, takes the 230 gn 45 slug to 972'/sec, all from the same pistol tested.
Hell, the concept of a +P rated semi-auto pistol is like calling barak obama a good president.
