Ruger SP-101 Action Work

I have a new 4" SP-101.Can the double action be lighted up alittle or is it as good as it gets.Does anyone know if Bob Munden does Ruger DA's.Thanks

the tricky part is getting the hammer spring (main spring) back on the hammer strut, and getting the retainer pin back in.

With the strut in a vise, a dinner fork can easily compress the spring and retainer to install the pin but a small drill press works better.

Here is a guide that is simple to follow. I have a 10lb hammer spring in mine, and it still gives hard primer strikes.

do it yourself, very easy IF YOU HAVE THE RIGHT POLISHING EQUIPMENT, don't try this if you don't (it's cheap to get though).

If doing it yourself is not what you want to do send it to Alan Harton. He's one of the best pistol smiths on Rugers. I have a sp101 he reworked and it is flawless.  ;D

I know I'm a little late to the game here, but this is what I did to my sp101.  Works great and really improved the trigger pull/action cycle.

My secretary just has her's worked by Todd Lockburner in CO Springs and he did a great job.
