The head of Hamas, well, doesn't have a head right now.

Hamas fires 200 rockets into Israel.
IDF calling up reserves.
Egypt's PM is going to Gaza.
Egypt's Moslem Brotherhood calls Israel 'project of the devil'.

It doesn't look good.

absolutely, if enough muslim countries jump on Israel, and they think they'll be beaten, they just might roll out the nukes. they cannot afford to lose a war being a tiny speck on the topography of the middle east.

Bugeye, That is pretty much my line of though as well... Not to mention that history always shows that whenever enough countries are having problems and things need to be "reset" there is always a huge war. I pray that this isnt the case but we are about due for another "big one". As Albert Einstien said..."I have no idea what weapons will be used to fight WW3, but WW4 will be fought with sticks and stones." $:-\$

Quit self deceiving yourself. Jews have very little to do with the Middle East. These "people" who rule Israel came from Eastern Europe and Soviet Union. They are nothing more than colonial invaders, a concept Anglo Americans got over with in the middle of the last century. I can't believe the world still tolerates this racism and apartheid.

that were given that region by God himself. If anything they took back what was theirs in the first place, and not the other way around. So what if they wish to control their own borders, something we

there and calling it her own. All this is well documented even back as far as 3000 years ago.

Israel won't die. Jews are God's chosen. The U.S. has no guarantee. Israel does. Politics and religion. Which do you follow more closely?
I don't think the current conflict Israel has with either Hamas or Iran will trigger the next big war. This one will pass with Israel still in existence, then they will deal with Iran. Soon.
I don't mean to say the end is not near. It may be upon us now, but probably not. The world stage is set, but I'm not sure the Christians of the world will be here to see Israel in its final conflict and victory.
The sad thing is that the U.S. (although they say they will stand with Israel) will weasel out if Obama is still in charge. Do you see that? If we don't protect God's chosen, where are we in the end?
A tv program just tonight showed a clip of Reagan (as president) mentioning Lord Jesus. Good grief. What if Obama said that? For that matter, what if any American politician or government authority made reference to Jesus? Think about that. That is how far the U.S. has gone from truth to politics since the 70's. So far in such a short time. If the U.S. completely dismisses Jesus from its decisions and actions, how long can we survive. I look for Him now. Even the Muslims profess their silly religion. Although they are doomed eternaly for their false beliefs, they at least have kept their beliefs alive in their government. But we do not, except as individuals. The U.S. will fail for an altogether different reason than the evil Muslim society. It's just that there is little left in America to respect. We don't even respect ourselves, as a nation. We favor gays and drugs and "anything goes" over God. It's worse than that, because God has become an unspeakable name among our leaders.

Now they have moved to the "Samson" model..if destruction threatens, they will take their enemies with them..as their judge Samson did at Gath about 30 centuries ago.
That being said, I seriously doubt anybody can wipe Israel out..if it comes near that..I believe divine intervention will occur..just brush up on the prophetic "Battle of Armageddon"..

Meanwhile, I truly hope that doesn't happen, but if the barbarians don't stop their aggressive actions, they may face a real spanking from a very sophisticated military..

That Merkava tank is very impressive! Were I a young tanker of today, I would be delighted to have a Merkava as my "ship".. That is not to put the Abrams down; especially since the Abrams has proven itself so superior to almost any other tank.
The Merkava also has troop carrying capacity..great idea..carry your own infantry. If you stay with the video, you will be introduced to Israel's new, "all purpose" round for the tank. ..... Amazing!!!

All that, coupled with thr TROPHY system: http://www.defense-update.com/features/2010/june/israeli_aps_09062010.html and reactive armor ..which explodes back at any projo hitting the tank...makes for a formidable tank..

Are you familiar with armor? If so, It appears you really misread this one.. if you're not familiar with armor, then I guess it is understandable.. You speak of that "big back door"..have you looked?
First off;
1) Carrying troops inside a tank makes them less vulnerable than they would be in an APC.
2) That "big back door" is smaller than the exposed area of many top tanks
3) Armor tactics are such that tanks cover each other..on request, a tank commander can "sweep off" his partner with a light machine gun
4) The Merkava has reactive armor which stands a good chance at defeating an RPG by itself
5) Almost immediately upon launch, any RPG would be destroyed by the unique "TROPHY" defense system.
6) The liklihood that any enemy with an RPG could get in position to hit that "small back door"and survive, is extremely unlikely.
7) Note that much of the rear of the Merkava is covered with sponson boxes, likely made of reactive armor which would pre-detonate anything which may get past TROPHY.
Below, see some of the great tanks of the world, compare.. and see if the Merkava seems more vulnerable..

Here's another view of what you call the "big back door, of the Merkava. In order for an RPG operator to hit that door he would have to be directly behind the tank...right where the tank just came from seconds ago. Any further away makes it even easier for TORCH to kill the RPG round.

Iran has supplied G to G rockets to both two major terrorist entities... Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, and they have observed about 8,000 rocket strikes in Israel over the last 2 years.
Meanwhile..everyone's attention diverted, Iran and their "Looney Tunes" bunch.... are working feverishly to build their bomb.

Now they have a fairly good idea how the "Iron Dome" defense works..and some of it's soft spots.. helpful when they want to launch "the bomb"..
