Hello guys!
A guy in our group shot a small spike Saturday. Locked like a really fat fawn to me. As I looked closer, he was about 3.5 years based on teeth... Funny thing is is his lower jaw was about two inches shorter than his upper!!!
A couple years before, I watched my brother shoot a big 5 point with his bow. Good shot right in lungs, a little hi but good shot. The deer ran into a tree and went down. Got up and never stopped... We looked for miles following sparse blood fine ally giving up. Three weeks later, 100 yards from that spot pop shot a 5 point buck. He teased my brother that he shot his buck... My brother said YOU DID!! Walked up to the deer and found two scabs UNDER THE SPINE apparently above the lungs where te arrow went thru!!!! The deer appeared 100% normal before pop shot him!!!
Years ago I shot a small 8 point with one leg about 4" shorter than the others. He walked with a very funny gait/limp. When we gutted him out he had apparently snapped off the front leg earlier in life and the stump and leg bone slid up along side each other and healed that way.
Years before that we regularly found steel broad heads in hams of deer we shot! In the days of recurves.
Any inf you guys find any oddities?
