It's sad what others realize and we don't
« on: November 19, 2012, 07:15:46 AM »
An editorial from the Czech newspaper Prager Zeitungon:

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.  It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president.  The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America.  Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince.  The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their president."

I think they pretty well hit the nail on the head."}" id=".reactRoot[10]">

Wow.  A great find Hog.  I have long thought the same thing.   This "Man" was elected by millions of people who support his ideas.  That's what's really scary.

I'm old enough to remember when people risked their lives to escape from  the kind of system people have voted for this guy to establish here.  That's what's really frightening.

My Swedish relatives have been telling the family here in the US. this since LBJ. Also that the only difference between the parties is the speed that we will become a socialist country. The Dems will get us there faster.

communists exploit the gullible.  young people, the very old, the envious of the successful, and the lazy.  those who have been-there-done-that, can see exactly what is happening to us.

I have to disagree with the above statement. He was elected by millions of people who don't have a clue what he stands for.

yes we do, we can see it! it just so happens that at this point in time we are now the minority.we as in those of us who work for a living, we in those of us who know what it takes to survive on our own.we who have killed a animal and ate it.we who have grown a garden and lived from it.we who know what it takes to make a economy run.we are now the minority. we have lost and all we can do is all we can do.

I agree. Karl Marx himself would be very proud of our tax/welfare structure - From each according to his ability, to each according to his need
"Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves."

I remember as a kid in the fifties wondering how a country could be overtaken by socialism or ruled by someone like Adolph Hitler. Now I know.

It is certainly amazing how so many have put common sense aside..and voted for "Santa Claus"..willing to run our nation down the tubes, just so "they can get theirs".  They don't even care how they may put their children in economic chains ..just to cover it!
Surely, the Czechs as well as the Poles, Roumanians and all the eastern European people understand this..thay have just been freed fron a national nightmare in the last couple decades.

How soon some elders forget..and never teach the younger generation..
Most of our educational system has been grosssly negligent, not warning the younger generations of the evils of  socialism & communism.
I was one of those who, among 235,000 other GIs along with the French, Brits and Bundeswehr who "stood in the gap" during the cold war years.  I saw the "iron curtain" in all it's ignomy..  I often came near the fence where many died under a hail of fire..  Those guns and towers were all on THEIR side..ready to kill THEIR people for trying to escape the communist utopia.
The same is happening today in places like North Korea and even Cuba.  Should not common sense tell anyone with a modicum of gray matter in their skull...that there is something very wrong with a country that murders those of it's people who try to leave?

  For very short memories see below the Berlin walll, the now abandoned "Iron Curtain" fences and the current iron curtain fence in North Korea;

Even our founders realized that no system is immune from the lure of the masses voting themselves benefits paid for by the few.  To some extent this sort of thing was somewhat limited by the available resources.  The founders probably had no notion about just how irresponsible lawmakers could be.  Now the sky is the limit, because of no federal budgets and unlimited deficit spending.  The folly is to think this can continue.

As the Russian chess champion said in the Wall Street Journal: "My country is slowly adapting the best of yours but yours is rapidly adapting the worst of mine.

This was during the Bush administration.

Not nearly the same. The Treaty of Versailles was the major reason he became elected. That Treaty was supposed to prevent any further WW's and actually set the stage for the next one. Prez Wilson had promised Germany to receive a fair treatment, he folded on that.
The German people wanted a reversal from the Weimar Republic. The American Voters choose to renew the contract with a Socialist.

We still have to "right" to discuss, criticise and complain. Will we let that slip away? Will our freedoms all die in silence? ear

Americans understand that no matter who they elect, they will end up with another zio-president.   Nothing changes.  The corruption stays the same.  End the wars.  Put the troops on the border.  America is the country you owe your allegiance to.   8)
Study after study has shown how dangerous distracted driving is yet people continue to talk on their cell phones while driving. Driving in the U.S. requires your full attention. Many states and countries have made it illegal to use a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle and the federal government should follow their lead. Banning the use of cell phones while driving would have the added benefit of making the no-texting law enforceable.

I don't believe he was elected by millions of people that support his ideas. Rather he was supported by millions of people that have their hand out for freebie's. The irony is, I believe, that had Romney won, the would not have lost those freebies either! Keep in mind that no president can give these freebies and none can take them away, that is the doing of our representatives!
