Cool gift!
« on: November 20, 2012, 03:07:14 AM »
I have been riding motorcycles since I was 10 years old. I started on an older cousin's 64 Honda Trail 90. My cousin died about three years ago. Out of the blue a few day ago his widow ships the bike to me from ND to KS. This IS the first motorbike I ever rode. It has not run for over 40 years but the engine turns over and has compression. Will try to get it running this winter. It is so cool to have this bike back in my life.

It don't look that bad.  I think the restoration should be very doable...   The carb and tank are like a mess and are probably a good place to start.

Let us know of your progress...

I remember well the Honda Trail 90.  I wanted one so bad, but I was just a kid and couldn't buy it.  If I remember correctly, it had a system whereby the gear ratio could be changed from road to mountain riding.  Lordy, that was 49 years ago.

Those old Trail 90s are highly prized and highly sought after by collectors. Enjoy and relive the memories!
