Even though this is a year old thread, with the loss of 800 posts recently, perhaps a few will see and read it, and enjoy the discussion and photos.
I've been a big fan of .45 ACP revolvers for years, and have found the single action Ruger and FA versions to be super accurate in that chambering. My oldest version is a '76 "Liberty Model" convertible with some upgrades added over 20 years ago:
The latest is a Talo .45 ACP only, that I bought about a year ago. It required only filing .023" off the front sight to perfectly zero it with my 3 .45 ACP loads:
Another real favorite is this Flat Top convertible. It gets shot as an ACP probably at least 25 to 1 over the .45 Colt cylinder usage:
And too, remember Freedom Arms makes a great Mdl. 97 .45 Convertible. Almost unbelievably, this one prints my 2 .45 Colt and 3 .45 ACP loads into the same group at 25 yds. Like I said, I'm a big fan of .45 ACP single actions:
I've owned a S&W 25-2 and 3 625's over the years too, and while they were great for bowling pin competitions and such, their accuracy at longer ranges didn't begin to compare to these 4 single actions.
