Pocket t-shirts -- looking for good ones.
« on: November 23, 2012, 10:15:14 AM »
I almost always wear pocket t-shirts. I really like the pocket. It's a great place to put stuff in temporarily, whether it's my keys or some change for toll booths or some bait for fishing. But it's getting hard to find decent ones in tall sizes that are well made and reasonably durable. Do you know of a good place that sells these shirts?

The Hanes Beefy T comes in pocket T style, don't know about a tall version.
I like my T-shirts to be made with heavier weight cloth and Hanes is consistently the heaviest in pocket tees.

Land's End offers tall versions of pocket tees.

Last few years, I have preferred Fruit of the Loom sleeveless t-shirts (not the wife-beater style).
Walmart offers them only seasonally in the spring, and my wife grabs them up when she sees them.
I have the next generation of tee shirts in reserve when this generation wears out.

Carhartt makes some good t-shirts. Be sure to look at the tags because they make a thinner shirt for hot weather. Dickies makes a good t-shirt also.

Walls makes a real good heavy duty shirt that I get at Walmart. I think they might be made by Carhart for Walmart but I don't have anything to back that up. Besides that I have bought Fruit of the loom but they are not as thick as the Walls work ware ones. Dale

I just bought a bunch of Hanes Pocket Tees, no tag, but they are not tall size.  Heavy material, with crew neck.  My son abscounded with half of them, he also likes the pockets.

A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I have so many that I've not needed to buy any for a few years. I still have several in unopened packages. I got mine from JC Penney. I don't know if they still sale them but one of these days I too will be in need of more. Not soon tho.

L L Bean Carefree T's don't shrink and they handle stains pretty decent too. Comes in tall and various colors. Mine will usually last 3+ years before the pocket starts tearing. There's not much tellin' what I'll stick in my shirt pockets. Be reasonable with them and they'll probably last longer. Occasionally they have a kinda sale on them- a couple of bucks off and free shipping. That's when I buy. I usually buy 8-10 at a time and cycle them in with the others as they wear out.

Looks like they have a sale on them now with 10% off. Might have to get a few myself.
