That's possible but I didn't see it.  Or, maybe you were thinking of the pic I posted of Dahlgren guns lined up in Charlestown, MA Navy Yard.

I believe that you're thinking of a similar stereoscopic photo of Dahlgrens that he also posted.
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

OK, the composition was certainly similar.

Until I enlarged it I didn't see the stack of artillery projectiles in the background.  Any idea of when this image was taken?

Sorry I can't find that Ebay auction again, not sure why, checked closed auctions too.  Wanted to see if any more info was given.  This pic has to be showing Charleston Arsenal, and guessing at date I'd say 1862-4 sometime.  The Rebs have had time to make that many nice new Columbiads but haven't yet distributed them.  It'd be great if someone did some work on the image and picked out the trunnion markings.

Don't feel bad, I did the exact same thing; at first I thought that the cannonmn was slipping, then it dawned on me that the other photo showed rows of Dahlgren shell guns.
