My 2012 Blacktail buck
« on: November 24, 2012, 12:06:59 PM »
Well only got to go out hunting one day at the end of the season. I started feeling better after fighting cancer since the beginning of june. Cancer is in remission and a friend took me out Halloween day. I was happy just to get out but When I saw this big body 3x3 I wasnt going to pass. One shot with my Rem 760 35 Whelen w/ my load of Blc2 and rem 200 grn rn bullet. This is the first year I wasnt able to do alot of shooting all summer long or sight the whelen in, but it did its job and shot straight.

Glad to hear remission, and... glad that on the one day you got to hunt, you scored. Congratulations! I've never even seen a blacktailed deer... wrong part of the country!
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

Glad to hear your health is improving and you can do what you love to do. Nice deer!

That's the plain truth.  Hunting black tail deer here is usually an exercise in futility.

There's not to many left coasters on this board...  Anyway I'm in the corner of Willamina that's in Polk county.  I'm new around here so I don't know where to hunt or shoot yet in this area.

I'm in town and there's deer crap in my yard on a regular basis and my strawberry plants were decimated by deer this year. Perhaps I need to learn how to lasso.   ;D
