Taylor 1885 High Wall
« on: February 12, 2004, 01:13:16 AM »
I've been looking at the Taylor High Wall in .45-70. I have never owned a single shot but I'm looking to get an 1885 High Wall. Does anyone know anything about the Taylor? What should I look for in an 1885 and what should I avoid? What is a good brand to buy, Taylor, Navy Arms, Uberti or what? I want the octagon barrel in .45-70.

Hi Duesouth!
I have looked the Taylor over pretty close, but never fired them. I believe they are made by IAB, in Italy. The prices sure look reasonable. I saw one in Oklahoma City, when I was visiting my brother, at a place called Outdoor America, and they were just over $600 for a standard model in .45-70, or .38-55
If I was a resident, I'd have taken it home with me!
