could this be true? i think maybe.

WASHINGTON   (Reuters) - The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would   back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks   operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a   veto.

The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State   Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush's   administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national   controls were better.

On Wednesday Obama Took the First Major Step in a   Plan to Ban All Firearms in the United States . The Obama administration   intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens   through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations. By signing   international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the US   State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress. Once   the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be   subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments. These are laws that   have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations   and individuals such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg. The laws are   designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all   firearms.

The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and   methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment   before US citizens even understand what has happened. Obama can appear before   the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation (in   the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in   secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is committing the US to   international treaties and foreign gun control laws. Does that mean Obama is   telling the truth? What it means is that there will be no publicized gun   control debates in the media or votes in Congress. We will wake up one morning   and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and   ammu nition manufacturers from selling to the public. We will wake up another   morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer   of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find   that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any   firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or   face imprisonment.

This is not a joke nor a false warning. As sure as   government health care will be forced on us by the Obama administration   through whatever means necessary, so will gun control.

Please forward   this message to others who may be concerned about the direction in which our   country is headed.

We are being led like a lamb to the slaughter   (Socialism/Dictatorship).

"By signing   international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the US   State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress."

The above is simply not true, it requires a 2/3 majority vote of the senate. Even if it was approved it will not have any effect on our 2nd amendment. Anyone claiming otherwise is blowing smoke.

IMO, it is just to hard to really decide on who is trying to do what.  Both parties lie through their teeth as to what the opposing party is trying to do.  Both anti and pro gun organizations either lie their asses off and/or completely blow stuff out of proportion.

The conservatives believe that life is coming to an end.  The liberals believe that everyone if given a chance will love each other and find the better good. Both theories being completely retarded. IMO, the election pretty much proved my theory that your voice as a US citizen means nothing and the govmnt (both sides of it) are going to tell you one thing and do another.  All we can do is react to what happens.

What ever happened to butting the hell out of people's lives and letting them live it out.  I have no doubt in my mind that gun control at some level is going to rear it's ugly head once again in the US.  Do I like it- nope.  But, average Joe citizen anymore is nothing but a pimple on the huge ass that the US has become.

our resident democrats told us for four years "see, obama hasn't tried to take our guns", but we kept saying, just wait until he's re-elected.
he made promises to sarah brady and vladimer putin.  now he'll try to pay up to those two.

democrats are kinda slow in their thinking process.

Brother, all you can do is react to what happens.  I think it's comletely obvious at this point that being proactive with having a say in what the governmnet does is a thing of the past.  That sucks, but I have believed that for years.  You need to stop "crying over spilled milk" and adapt to what may or may not happen.  And I am not saying that you are a cry baby.  I am just saying that kicking the ground and pointing fingers over who won the election isn't going to change a damn thing.

He can sign anything the senate by 2/3's majority must approve it for it to be law. Get in touch with the senate and keep up the presure . Keep in mind many sent to congress want to stay for a long time the president gets 10 years at most. I think the voters will win this one if the put pressure on the senate and vote out the nuckle heads in 2 years.

NOTHING over rides the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.  I don't care if the Senate ratifies such a treaty. The Constitution and Bill of Rights are the overriding law of the land. Even Congress cannot make a Constitutional Amendment. Any attempt to take our guns will result in a blood bath. Those who worry about 'gun violence' need to clean up Africa first.

SA I hope you are correct but it would end up in Court and at this point who could say what they would do ? From the start Obama said his HCA was not a tax then the court said it was and backed it.  ::)

That sounds great but if those guns were enough then those owning the guns would have voted out the problem. If they are to lazy to vote will the even raise a finger much less a trigger finger ?

Well in the beginning, of the USA, most living in the American Colony, either did not care or opposed independence. Once again the few must be ready to water the tree of liberty with the blood of oppressors and Patriots.

There already have been many such treaties ratified.  The great national parks are no longer property of the United States, but instead are "world heritage sites" under the jurisdiction of the UN.

To think they would not ratify this is foolhardy.  Pressure your senators.

Every country that has gone thru. a period of revolution has also had a clensing of the opposition often just precived opposition . Something that should be considered by all concerned before they choose to sleep it out. Better to wise up and vote responsibly before the blood flows .
